  1. We were at Mr Sanchos in February off an Oasis of the Seas cruise. We booked online for entrance for four, but didn’t book any excursions. After seated at one of the umbrella tables near the beach a guy came around w a snorkeling trip. I think it was $120 for three. Paid cash and got a receipt. Boat was docked at the end past the massage area, with all the water sports equipment. Wife and two kids 13 & 15 went and loved it. Boat took about 10 of them to two spots. Divers swam w a ring and they held onto the ring and were being pulled. Kids are good swimmers, but mother didn’t feel comfortable leaving them. Diver was patient, helpful. A couple of times he dove down and brought up something for them to see. They really liked the excursion and my wife said two divers and one boat driver were all great. Offered them drinks and kept them at ease. They were gone about 1.5 hrs and stayed close to shore.

I stayed at the table, drank half dozen cervezas and had no pain. They returned, had some great stories and a bit more food. When we return to Cozumel, we will definitely stop again here.

  2. We used shoreexcursioneer.com twice on our Oasis trip to Cozumel and to Falmouth in late February 2018. Booked Mr. Sanchos Beach Resort for four through shoreexcursioneer - worked out well. Exited the port, stood in line for a taxi (right behind the Oasis captain, who was going golfing) and the taxi (extra) took us direct to Mr. Sanchos. I had the paperwork, paid the remaining balance on a Visa credit card and we were done. In Falmouth, I booked online a day pass at Royalton White Sands Hotel/Resort - except for missing the included shuttle (paid $20 to take a taxi), the activity worked out well. There was some confusion, probably around missing the shuttle - when we arrived, the hotel desk charged our credit card (which is what they used to do), but called shoreexcursioneer.com, who then asked the hotel to refund us and then shoreexcursioneer.com charged us the balance directly. Probably our fault since we missed the shuttle, which seems like when this transaction would have occurred.

All in all, the website promised as advertised at both venues. I would use them again in the future.

  3. We were just there in mid-February off Oasis. We probably disembarked around 10-11 AM, walked to the one of the Coves and it was not too crowded, though we had to ask an attendant to move four loungers together. We rented two floating cushions. I fell asleep briefly - when I awoke it was wall to wall loungers and you had to walk on the lip of a stone wall to get out without crawling over loungers. The cove was full enough that you could not paddle-board in the water - too crowded with bobbing heads.

Food lines were long - eventually we tired of dealing with the crowds and went back to the ship for a leisurely meal at Park Cafe. Even our kids (13 and 15) did not mind returning to the ship. They loved the water, floating on the cushion, but we had this planned in Falmouth and again in Cozumel.

Not much beach to speak of in San Juan, unless you are going to the Condado area, away from city center.

  4. We (family of four - 2 adults and 2 teens) were at Mr. Sanchos in mid-February off the Oasis of the Seas stop. Sodas came out to our kids by the glass, I don't recall any ice. Water came out in sealed bottles. My wife had pina coladas - so I imagine there could have been some ice in the drink. Everyone returned home fine - we had the usual variety of food - probably some lettuce on the tacos, as decorations on the dishes - fried fish, shrimp ceviche. I would not worry - the large clientele visiting would only make sense that Mr. Sanchos takes the necessary safety precautions, or risk losing major business.

  5. We just returned from Oasis (Feb 18-25) Western Caribbean cruise - my 13 yr old son says no X-box on the ship. He says the "living room" for the teens (13-17) had some arcade style games, but no X-box. Plus the arcades do not have X-boxes.

He was still quite busy on the ship. Take them to the teen meet and greet on the first night, and your son will identify some peers for the rest of the cruise. The ship has some staff and activities for the age group and gender. My daughter - 15 went to the room, as well, but just hung out with other girls. My son played basketball, dodge ball, scavenger hunts - and came back with a couple of "medals" from RCI. They had breakfast and dinner with us nightly, but the rest of the days they were out with friends until 11 PM. They have stayed in contact with their new friends.

  6. Seemed like a nice stop. Excellent to walk from the dock right into the area. Had a band and singers playing once on land. Short pleasant walk to Nellie's Cove and signage was good. The water was very calm for the kids on the floating cushions.

By the time the place was crowded to exit Nellie's Cove, we had to walk a tight-rope like walk on the brick wall separating the beach from the second level. One mis-step and you flop down on someone's lounger.

The concept seemed good - we should have just walked around the area to find a new spot, but my kids were hungry and the lines were long.

  7. Spent part of the day at Labadee from the Oasis Cruise 2/18-2/25. Probably exited the boat around 10, returned around 2. Went to Nellie's Cove like people have suggested. At first the place was fine - attendant helped us get four loungers together along the wall. Closed my eyes briefly, awoke to find hardly any room to walk. We rented two floating cushions that the kids used in the water and they enjoyed. But, with so many people on the beach, you could hardly get to the water without having to jump over a lounge chair or some beach equipment.

We walked over to the shops, but they were so crowded we walked out. The buffet had two lines that were fairly long, so we decided to go back to the ship for lunch. The venue seemed nice, but 6000 guests getting off the boat at once filled the venue to capacity. Even the Columbus Cove beach on the ocean side was pretty crowded. Next time, will stay on board.

  8. We were just on the Oasis (2/18 to 2/26) cruise and took a case of water bottles spread across two suitcases. Had no problem/no question, though my wife had an extra bottle of hard cider (Stella Artois) left over from a six pack we had in Orlando on her carry-on. The security guard looked at it several times and then said it was not allowed. No hassle, just thought about it, didn't ask any questions. I'm thinking he was questioning wine versus hard cider. We were happy to give it up and finish the embarkation process and get onboard.

  9. Read instructions carefully. We followed, but could not find rep. Others told us look for the white tent. We went to the tent and other reps told us the guy had left. Said look for a rep w a yellow shirt. They started talking amongst themselves and eventually we walked away to a taxi stand and $20 we were there. We had no phone for the area and a taxi was the fastest way not to waste our time.

  10. At front desk check in ask the rep. She arranged the transportation back. Van was ready and took eight of us back to port. We had to leave drivers licenses w them, and at front gate, security returned our cards to us at exit.

We went back at 4. Gangplank up at 530. We shopped and walked the area. Driver returns to a secure area and you weave your way back to boat. Not direct as the mall has you winding through their shops to spend your cash. Very touristy, but safe and nice walk to security.

  11. Just returned from Oasis trip on 2/25 with a day stop at Cozumel. Stood in taxi line outside of port w ship’s Captain, who was heading to a golf course. Us, family of four went to Mr. Sanchos for a day on the beach. Felt perfectly safe. Return trip taxi dropped us off a bit far from port entrance, but I think it was planned for riders to walk through the mall for shopping. We had concerns earlier, but all seemed fine. Resort was crowded to capacity and definitely safe.

  12. We used shoreexcursioneer for day passes at Royalton White Sands Resort in Falmouth and Mr. Sanchos Beach Resort in Cozumel. Worked out very well. Nice thing is the deposits were generally small, so if you decide to not go, you were not out alot of money.

Make sure you read the instructions carefully, as we missed the shuttle at Falmouth and had to hire a taxi.

  13. We just returned from Oasis cruise (2/18 to 2/25) with a stop in Falmouth. Through shoreexecursioneer.com we bought day passes at Royalton White Sands. No problem with taxi/shuttle to resort - streets were fine - drove through industrial areas, urban and poor areas. Didn't feel threatening in any way for family of four (2 adults and 2 teens). Royalton White Sands was a great hotel - very clean, uptodate. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beach area not the best, in this case a little too windy and water was rough, but the pool areas, the lazy river, the kids swim area were great. Drinks were included and the bartenders didn't serve kids alcohol, but made nice drinks for the adults. We didn't eat in the buffet, but did visit the jerk hut (whole chickens, well cooked) - chef chopped one chicken into quarters and then diced up to put into little plastic containers, a fork, some potatoes and some jerk sauce - excellent. We had some ice cream, but all the flavors tasted the same. Bathrooms were very clean - in our stay, the men's room was cleaned twice.

Shuttle took us back and a nice walk through the port area for shopping. No hard sell, no intimidation. A nice port, don't worry, as long as you think smart, you should be fine.

  14. We just returned from Oasis on Feb 18-25 Western Caribbean Cruise with a 13 y boy and a 15 y girl. Friends and postings here said to take the kids immediately to the kids room for a meet and greet. I think it was our first night in the evening - say 8 PM. We dropped them off, came back and found my daughter line dancing and my son shooting baskets. After that, every morning after breakfast they were gone, had lunch with friends on the ship, played games, listened to music, etc, met us for dinner and stayed out till 11:30 PM almost every night. We spied on them a couple of times - and they seemed fine.

The teen club (13-17) had an attendant at the door, so no other kids could go in. First couple of nights (per the kids) the programs were well developed (dodge ball, 3 on 3 basketball, scavenger hunt, karaoke, etc), but by the 5 day the kids just hung out or wandered off to the buffet or the nearby WipeOut Cafe to be in their own groups. For younger kids, they can't leave on their own, which is good. We liked that the kids developed some sense of independence and meeting new friends.

  15. Has anyone done the mini subs scooter activity recently. I see alot of old postings and wanted to make sure the subs is still a good family activity. I don't swim, so the wife and kids will go. Is there a beach or some place for me to hang out while they are scooting around?
