  1. If she is on a specific diet because of medical issues, I would definitely let Norwegian know ahead of time, and they will be able to work with you. It's hard to guess which entrees have a lot of butter or salt or potassium or ingredients that might pose a problem, depending on the medical issues. "Healthy" will mean different things based on her medical conditions.

If it's not a medical diet, are you looking for low calorie, low cholesterol, low salt, low fat, low carb?

A lot of the fish is breaded or fried or cooked with butter or rich sauces, which might not work for her depending on her needs. I bet NCL could do a plain grilled fish, but it would be a special request.

I was not saying that specific instances people were pointing out were hilarious but rather the people complaining about people complaining are hilarious and yes I agree that was not the intent of the original thread but that is definitely what it turned into.  Get off your high horses people 🙂

Sorry, I'm a bit confused. Did you mean to quote this post, or the one I made before it?

As far as this thread being about making fun of people or "tearing others apart", these are public reviews, not people's private thoughts. They meant for others to see what they wrote, which includes the possibility of the review being quoted, criticized, or otherwise reproduced. Maybe it's not your thing, which I can understand, but I think at least some of us are enjoying it. It gives us something fun to do waiting for our next cruise.

"Sixteen people were held hostage by locals in Costa Maya during their NCL sponsored excursion. This was swept under the rug of course.

Most of these were hilarious, but this one was just a little scary. It's rare, but awful things like this definitely happen.

There was a news story a few weeks ago about 18 people claiming they were briefly taken hostage by people with shotguns while on a Jeep tour in Costa Maya, and the article said they had been on NCL. I have no clue how credible it is, or whether or not they stated it was an NCL excursion.

So yes this is a thread devoted to complaining about the complainers and I do think it's hilarious...

It seems like it has evolved into that, which isn't anywhere near as fun as just reading complaints for entertainment value. It's like reading bad restaurant reviews or movie reviews and the like. There's some schadenfreude in reading the accounts of honestly awful trips, and some moral superiority felt reading the reviews of people who were clearly going to find SOMETHING wrong, and downright amusement at hyperbole and ridiculous turns of phrase.

  5. Thanks! I appreciate the info.

It's a shame that they don't rotate the Supper Club menus ... We will probably just pick one show that we really want to see, or try to get a show at a later time and eat dinner first. I definitely don't want to eat the same meal more than once!

I really enjoyed Los Lobos on the Dawn on our last cruise, which was quite a surprise! I thought Le Bistro was decent, too, but I love French food and flavors, which helps a lot - garlic and butter cover a multitude of sins.

I agree that nothing was really impressive or amazing, but there were only a few meals that were really disappointing. I don't expect a floating hotel to have Michelin-star food, and tried to keep my expectations reasonable. You are right that we can get better food at local places 🙂

  6. I am cruising this weekend on the Escape, and was wondering if the 3-course fixed menu for Supper Club shows was the same every night, or if it varies?

My husband and I are foodies and I am trying to decide between an extra night at a specialty restaurant or catching another show.  If it's the same menu every time in the Supper Club, that would be a deciding factor.  I know we could just skip eating and get dinner elsewhere, but want to factor that into our planning.

Assuming we CAN get reservations to anything ... 🙂

Bonus question: for anyone on the ship lately, what were the shows in the Supper Club?
