Yes, some do go there. My point was that associating New Orleans with Costa Maya is silly when that port is easily avoided.

Because they are limited to Western Caribbean cruises and Costa Maya is a port they frequent.

I've cruised out of New Orleans more than a dozen times and have never been to Costa Maya.

I think they showed support for the side they believe is right. That means a lot more than waiting to jump on a bandwagon after results are announced.

I doubt that Carnival would have risked being wrong. Within hours of the announcement, they probably knew which way the vote would swing.

Totally missed that even after reading it 3 times! Welp, guess if I’m going on Glory ever again looks like it will have to be next year. Don’t see myself going out of NO again. Did that my first cruise and it was OK. But unless they have a good itinerary, I don’t see it happening. I am totally not a fan of Costa Maya.

No you may not. Do I like the rule, no. But it is their program and it is quite clear in the information about Cheers that you can not use it on private islands.

I think it would be great if they added a higher level above Diamond, like say after 365days (1year) of cruise days.

What do you envision as perks for this level? Dry cleaning?

DH and I sat with John Heald one morning, for about 15 min and had a cup of coffee, last month on Fascination. DH asked him about the loyalty program and possible changes. He did repeat what he said, at the above mentioned Q & A, about difficulty of recog across lines.

He told us there are over 200,000 plats and 7,000 Dia, currently. Also, again, still looking at a level between Plat and Dia and also above Diamond.

Very pleasant, but don't believe he knows that much ab what's in the works. :D

I can't imagine what a level between Platinum and Diamond would get. We're Platinum and don't see a real need to become Diamond. The perks don't seem much better.

Especially when you attach a $5 bill to the bag, as we do!!

Drat! I thought this thread was going to contain some earth-shattering news about loyalty program changes. Instead, it's just rumor and heresay that's been floated around for 2 years now.

The only sandwiches I recall being pre-made was the new Cubano Mixto sandwich because it is more time consuming to build those. I've seen them pre-made in shops in Tampa for that matter.

The man was rip roaring drunk but no one was harmed. Because I had notified the ship of the problem, I was told that passengers in the cabin were cut off from any alcohol purchases for the cruise and that security would be making a regular security checks of the cabin. Our cabin was also called twice a day to check if we had anything to report.

That's actually good to know. Being next to someone so violent could be very scary.

I don't remember any decorations, but I could be wrong. We were on the Dream out of New Orleans, so I'm sure that influenced the number of people participating in the parades.

Yes, Last year there was a parade around the decks, and some groups have bead swaps.

We always go on our own except when we were in Alaska. The distances are so great that I felt better booking through the ship - just in case.

Put the kid in the hot tub. Plenty of parents seem to think that’s ok. At least on our cruise. Staff did not seem to care.

As long as some drunks sit in those hot tubs, I doubt that the kid's diaper could be any more damaging than what those folks are doing in that water.
