No refund yet or any communication as to when to expect it.
-
Has anyone called NCL to clarify when the refunds will be posted to our payment methods? I may give them a call tonight if I can squeeze in sometime and post an update of what I find out.
-
The way NCL explained it to me was that it's 50% of the fare that you paid for the cancelled sailing, not the new one.

Still very accommodating. Thank you!

Stupid question...
"50% future cruise credit, based on your voyage fare, valid towards the cruise fare only on one future voyage within12 months from the date of this letter."
Does this mean 50% of what my booking was for this trip to towards next cruise.
--Example if cruse was 2k then I get 1k off next booking
Or
50% off next cruise
--Example cruise booked is 3k and I get billed for 1.5k
Thanks!

Just relax, disasters happen. Your cruise is not important.
:-) That's the attitude I have about my cruise. I actually feel a bit silly watching all this and "Worrying". We are going out on our 10 year anniversary. BTW, this thing could make a lot of headache back home if the track has it heading up the east coast too. This could be a major situation for a lot of people.

This just posted on Facebook
9/5, 9:30 ET:
At Norwegian Cruise Line, the safety and security of our guests and crew is of the utmost importance. The company is continually closely monitoring weather systems, including the tropics, and all Norwegian Cruise Line ships offer state-of-the-art radar and weather equipment. In the event of inclement weather, our ships will sail a route around the affected area, to have the least impact to our guests and crew. At this time, all of our ships are sailing as scheduled but please stay tuned for specific details regarding Norwegian Sky 9/8 sailing & Norwegian Escape 9/9 sailing. Should there be any updates, guests will be advised and updated information will be posted on www.ncl.com.
I like how they post things on Social Media but not a direct message to our inbox on the site ;-) Thanks for sharing I would have never seen it!

My wife and I are going on our 10 year anniversary on this cruise. I suspect that they will just divert and change Itinerary. What maybe interesting is what we come back to Monday morning and the condition of the Airport, Roads, etc. See everyone onboard!

So after 10+ Cruises and Stalking this site I am motivated to make a post ;-) This is a great resource to learn everything there is to know!
We flying into Miami on 9/8 going out on the Norwegian "Booze Cruise" Sky for our 10 year Anniversary. It's a short 3 day affair. The itinerary is pretty much in ground zero of the current path of Irma (Nassau, Great Stirrup Cay). At this point we are just waiting and seeing what happens. I hope Norwegian is responsible and considers all the factors. IE, Impact of Embarkation Port, can people get home if Miami is impacted, etc, etc. What I have done to sort of prepare is book a Hotel Stay inland in preparation we might be stuck for a while. However if Irma slams Florida I think we are going to stay home and forgo the flight, etc. The bottom line is folks, this is what life hands us and you have to be willing to take a loss without insurance and plan accordingly. I see a lot of frustration here and can relate but what control do we have in the end?
Hope everyones' trip pans out ok!

I know you were not asking me directly, however I can attest to what happened when I booked my next cruise.
First,
The booking consultant I worked with was really accommodating and knowledgeable. You will get 50% of your ORIGINAL cruise fare for missed cruise. This DOES not include any "upgrades" if you won the bid for an upgraded room, etc. So it is NOT 50% off any future booking. Just want to clarify that.
Second,
You all should be getting your refunds in the coming days. I was informed that NCL is trying to get back to normal operations since there main office from what I understand is in Florida. So, that was why there have been delays, etc.
Best of luck to everyone!
