  1. Thanks for the responses everyone. It's good to know that they still do the cook to order omeletes on most of the other ships. It sounds like only Oasis and Harmony do not. I know it's a minor thing in the scope of things, but it was the first thing I looked for when we went to breakfast that first morning! We just finished our cruise on Sunday, but are still having cruise withdrawals and are already looking to book another. RCCL is the best.

  2. We're going on the 4/8/18 Oasis cruise this Sunday. This is our rescheduled cruise from the 9/10/17 Oasis cruise that was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma, so it has been a long long wait. This is our first Oasis cruise. I bought a new sport jacket for the cruise, but wanted to make sure that on formal nights a jacket, shirt and tie, and khakis would be ok for the main dining room. Thanks.

  3. Our Oasis cruise on 9/10 was cancelled and a new cruise (new departure date, shorter cruise, completely different destinations) was set up in its place. I'm still a little disappointed RCCL didn't do refunds since they cancelled the original cruise. They really should have under the circumstances. However, I went ahead and called and just scheduled a new cruise in April and they applied everything we had paid (including the taxes and tips) to the new cruise. It ended up costing me more than I had paid, with less OBC, but I wanted to get something scheduled before things got booked up. That's always an option.

  4. Well...we are out. RCCL just emailed us with the confirmation of our cancelled cruise (9/15), they will be using the ship for humanitarian work in the Caribbean bringing supplies to the islands affected by the hurricane. Full refund of our cruise, shore excursions and drink packages. Plus, 25% off our next cruise booked within the next 30 days. We are looking to the first week of either December or January. We had never booked a fall cruise before and this for sure taught us a lesson. Classy act on RCCL side, full refunds, 25 % off next cruise and humanitarian outreach, nothing we can complain about. Good Luck to y'all!!

We are out too. Was going on the Oasis 9/10 cruise, but cancelled and rescheduled for April. All we got was the credit towards next cruise, which costs a little more, but oh well. When I go on my first cruise I want to have a good experience and not have to deal with all the stress of this storm and driving 1,000 miles for a 4 day cruise just didn't make sense. I do however feel like RCCL should have just refunded everyone with a 25% credit.

  5. I was supposed to be on the Harmony 9/9 so I am in the same situation as you. I called and told them I wanted to rebook another cruise so they figured out the difference in only the cruise fare. They are not allowed to transfer over the taxes and port fees you paid so that has to be refunded and the actual cruise fare is what gets transferred as a fcc. Hope that helps..

EDIT: your prepaid tips will also have to be refunded to you. I did the same and was told that cannot be transferred either.

Thanks. That sounds great (except for having to wait another four months). I think even if there is a Tuesday cruise it won't be that fun, with everything going on and so many cancellations. I'm going to call them now.

  6. RCCL is offering a 100% future cruise credit if you can't make the Oasis cruise on Tuesday Sept 12. I plan on calling Royal, but does anyone know how that works? I paid about $2400 for the original cruise, including prepaid tips and taxes. Does this mean the $2400 will be credited to our account somehow to apply towards another cruise? I also need to find out how we even go about cancelling the cruise. We've been holding out thinking if the storm veered away from Florida that we may be able to make the shortened cruise, where they were giving a 30% credit, and a 50% future credit, a pretty good deal really. Now I can't even see how there will even be a cruise on Tuesday, let alone getting there, as the entire coast will probably be all closed off except for emergency personnel. I would hate to be on the Oasis cruise now that isn't supposed to come back until Tuesday wondering whether I would even have a car left to drive home in.

  7. Are you planning to fly in to Orlando? I think the airport closes tomorrow.

No, we are driving down. If it's as bad as it looks right now, I'm sure we will need to cancel (if it doesn't get cancelled first) and just take the credit they are offering for another cruise, but we wouldn't be able to do it until sometime next year. Our daughter lives in Charlotte so we'll watch what is going on from there on Saturday.

  8. We're leaving on Saturday to try to get to Port Canaveral for the Oasis cruise that leaves on Tuesday. We were booked for the Sept 10 cruise that got changed. I booked it all the way back last November - it's our first cruise and we've been so excited about it, counting down the days for the last six months! I booked a hotel in Cocoa beach the night before the cruise and changed it to Monday when the cruise was changed. But the hotel we called today to say they were cancelling the reservation I made for the night before, so not sure how all this is going to work out. I've been watching the weather channel non stop the last three days.

  9. Pretty ridiculous how RCI is not giving us a third option in getting a full refund with the 25% future credit. Our money is tied down on their side, when I can use it toward another vacation/plans/or other arrangements. Unbelievable.

I completely agree. I saved up all year for this cruise (Oasis on September 10)and it's all I have for vacation. Now we have RCL cancelling the cruise I paid for and just holding my money to be used on some future cruise, which will likely cost a lot more than I paid for this one (booked on cyber Monday and got a really good deal with on-board credits). If they would just refund the money now and give a 25% credit for a future cruise, I would be OK with that.

  10. We were supposed to be on the 9/10 Oasis cruise (driving from the Ohio valley), but now it's rescheduled for Tuesday. But if this hurricane moves up the coast on Monday as it's now forecast I can't see how they can still do the cruise Tuesday as though nothing is going on. We have reservations Monday night at a hotel in Cocoa beach, but if there are 130mph winds and a 12 foot storm surge on Monday it's going to be very dangerous to be there, if you can even get there at all. I imagine the authorities won't be letting anyone even get close to the coast. Will Royal Caribbean in that case just cancel the cruise completely and issue refunds of what was paid, with a partial credit to rebook a cruise?
