  1. As a family of 4 adults we find the best prices are offers for  3rd and 4th person in a cabin.

Looking at P and O (UK) Black Friday prices the 3rd and 4th person cost at least £2500. 3rd and 4th person prices on regular listing are often free, if booked as soon as new itineraries are launched, or about £200 per person for passenger 3 and 4 so £400 in total. Not so much of a saving for us. I also noticed the offers were only on inside cabins. Definitely a bargain for the right passengers.

  2. On our recent Jewel sailing we had buy one get one free (gold perk), we purchased two 8 x 10 prints. I am sure that we paid around $35 including Tax. Different size prints were different prices, I think they started at about $12.99.

We would have purchased four prints but could only see three that were worth buying. We did stop for numerous photo opportunities but were disappointed with the result.

One taken in the dining room of my children would have been great if the guy in the background, just about to take a mouthful of food, wasn't right in the middle of them in full focus!! Another one had chopped the top of my sons head off. We had eyes closed, things growing out the top of our heads and group shots where it looked like we had three arms each!!:')

  3. We have had inside cabins, outside view and balcony in the past. The most memorable holiday was with balcony just because the extra space outside gave my husband and I extra time when our children were small and sleeping in the cabin. This time we have a balcony and our children have grown but we still want to all stay in one cabin. Again this will give us the extra space for getting ready, sitting and chilling until we are all ready and the extra space for whoever stays awake later to sit somewhere and not disturb the others. Of course balcony's are only as good as the weather outside! Our last cruise to Caribbean balcony would have been next to useless as it rained pretty much all the time!!!

  4. We ALWAYS split our clothes across luggage (family of four). Last year we went on a two week Disney holiday then Freedom of the seas for 1 week Western Caribbean from Port Canaveral. Took our hire car from disney to port, parked it up then waited for the shuttle bus to take us to ship. Got on bus, got to embarkation and DD (16) looked horrified and said she had left her phone and purse in the back of the hire car, in the seat pocket.

A very very kind shuttle bus driver took us back to the car drop off, a very very kind employee took us to the car as it hadn't yet been valeted and there was her stuff.

We got another shuttle bus back to the ship and the holiday started, we felt very fortunate.

  5. The best way would be to take your mom with you and take a look around the options, then both of you decide what you would like to eat and go and collect the food. If you need extra hands to take your food back to the table then ask a crew member to help. Both of you find a table, sit down and enjoy your meal. Of course your mom needs to see the buffet to decide what she would like. Go at your speed, this is your vacation.

  6. First breakfast of a cruise is - tropical fruit salad with yogurt or continental breakfast of ham and cheese slices with watermelon.

By the middle of the cruise - Bacon, sausage, egg, baked beans with fresh fruit.

End of cruise - A bit of everything! Donuts, syrup, bacon, sausage, bagel, french toast, muffin! and some melon!!!

Got to love the diversity of cruising x
