We will be doing the Viking Pre Cruise Extension in Lake Como in April prior to our cruise from Basel to Amsterdam.  Has anyone did the Lake Como Pre Cruise?  If so, can you tell me what Viking provided and what you did on your own.  Thank you.

I will be on the Escape with my husband and another couple. We are leaving out of NYC on Sunday, September 9th. I am thinking about purchasing Vibe Passes mainly because I am concerned about crowds at the pool area and trying to find chairs every day. Do you think that will be a problem given when we are traveling? I am expecting kids to be back at school and it not to be as busy that week. Am I wrong? If I do decide to get the passes, how much are they and I'm assuming we will all need a pass, correct? Any help is appreciated.

I will be on the Oceania Riviera, with friends, from Barcelona to Lisbon in June. We are in the process of choosing excursions. I was wondering if anyone can help with excursions offered through Oceania for this itinerary. There seem to be a lot to choose from and they are pricey as well. The ports of call for this cruise are Toulon France, St. Tropez France, Livorno Italy, Civitavecchia Italy, Alicante Spain, Malaga Spain, Seville Spain and Lisbon Portugal. Can anyone recommend excursions that they did through Oceania that are worthwhile for each of these ports? Also, any bad experiences as well. Has anyone used an outside tour company? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

My husband and I will be taking a river cruise on Viking from Lyon to Avignon in two weeks. We are also doing the viking land extension of 2 nights in Paris and 2 nights in Dijon. Can someone suggest approximately how many euros to purchase before we leave? I know most is paid for, but I'm sure we will encounter something that we will need cash for. Thanks.

Thanks so much! I'm going to take your advice- we already booked the Chateauneuf-du-pape tour, as we enjoy wine also. I'm also going to book the Lumieres as well. The stop on the way to the boat is not mentioned, as there is nothing scheduled for that day. I'm hoping they also take us to Perouges. Any suggestions for lunch and/or dinner while on land? Do they offer suggestions as well?

Thanks for your feedback. It appears that Viking has one scheduled excursion per day, and it's about 4 hours each time. This makes me think that there will be plenty of afternoons free. The add on excursions either conflict with the free ones or don't seem appealing. Which of the ports did you do the hike on? And also the private wine tasting? How did you go about scheduling it on your own?

My husband and I will be sailing on the Viking Buri in October. We are doing a pre-extension in Paris and Dijon, then boarding the boat in Lyon and sailing for 8 days ending in Avignon. Although there is at least one shore excursion included at each port, it seems like there will be quite a bit of down time. Does anyone recommend other excursions to look into? Also- recommendations for both Paris and Dijon? Has anyone taken this cruise before? Is there a lot of down time? Are there things to do on your own or with an outside tour guide at each port? Any recommendations or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
