  1. I first sailed on Carnival 20 some years ago as a teen. I saw about the same amount of bad behavior then as now - not much. There are a few pushy or disrespectful people but, overall, no real problems. The worst behavior I saw was from one of the onboard comedians. He was very rude around the ship and in his show.

  2. I went to the lip sync battle on our cruise in May. I encouraged my children to attend the lip sync battle and preform with the kids club group. I am so glad they refused (they would rather stay in kids club) because the two people doing the lip sync battle were very inappropriate for children. Every cruise lip sync battle is different, but I don’t think I’ll be encouraging my kids to come again.

  3. Can someone tell me about Tampa? We are a group of 18 people and I know not everyone will have the same time. We are carpooling 4 cars to get everyone to the port and hope some will not have to wait outside for their time. We tried to get a bus to take us and pick us up but they wanted $640 for a 25 mile trip. The parking Dr is $45 a car for the whole week so we felt 180 split 18 ways was better than the bus.

When we left from Tampa in May, they didn’t look at our paperwork or check in times. It was between 11:30 - 12:00 and was surprisingly not busy at that time. It might not always be like that though.

  4. We also went on the Jewel before Carnival (I actually went on Carnival as a teen, but that was 15 years earlier). I really loved the Jewel. I felt that the food and entertainment on the Jewel was better overall - we loved the magician-comedian J P Parent, shows in Spinnaker and the trivia style. Carnival offers fun things to do also. They have comedian most nights in a smaller lounge that we usually enjoy. They also have shows in the large theater every night, but the variety is not as good as when we were on the Jewel. We enjoyed having lunch at o’sheehans on the Jewel and like the free style dining. Carnival doesn’t have free style, so we opt for anytime dining (similar but you have an assigned dining room and you will have elegant night). We have not been on a Carnival ship with Guys burgers or some of the other extra eating places. We have now been on four Carnival cruises (with another one booked) and have loved all of them (but are open to other lines). We just love to cruise and it seems like that would be your attitude also. I would definitely go on Carnival and have a great time.

  5. Our kids 7 and 10 love kids club on Carnival. We have never been on DCL, so I cannot compare the two. Each night the kids came to the main dining room, they were given a kids menu with activities and crayons. Some nights our kids opted to go to kids club dinner, because they liked it better than main dining room. At kids club dinner, the counselors just take the kids back to kids club after they finish meal time. Our kids never wanted to leave kids club - they had a lot of fun and made friends.

  6. I was on a five day cruise on the Elation a year a ago. They had two Hasbro game shows. They were on two separate nights - both at 7:30. I think they usually only have the Hasbro game show on one night at 7:30 but for some reason we got it twice. The seven day cruises I’ve been on only ever have one game show in the week.

  7. I was on the Miracle on the May 13th sailing. Love my cruise but I also found Manny Oliveira to be very rude. We went to his family friendly show. All he did was walk around the audience and pick on people. I wanted to leave, but my husband doesn’t like to leave in the middle of a show. Later my husband and I were sitting next Manny and Jorge Salano (comedian that was very funny). Jorge was very nice and personable, but Manny was still very rude. He said if you got up to walk out of his show when he was ridiculing you, he would follow you wherever you went and even make the ridiculing worse. He is the worst comedian I’ve seen on Carnival.

  8. Just got off the Miracle on Sunday. My son wanted the four cheese pizza with pepperoni. He tried ordering it a couple times, but they told him they couldn’t make it. The line wasn’t long either time he tried to order it. In fact, one time, he was the only person in line. Don’t know why they wouldn’t do it.

  9. Thinking of booking a cruise for June 2019 for our family of four but would like to include my daughters boyfriend as well. This relationship looks like "the one", but anything can happen before June 2019. If we booked with him and something would happen that he's no longer in the picture, how would we go about changing his booking to a friend or dropping it all together? What are the ramifications?

We would book two rooms...one for mom and dad and one for the other three.

I think, when booking Carnival’s website you only have to enter the 1st guest’s name when you book the cabin. All other guest that have been booked for that room will say tba (to be announced) in the name slot, until you change it. You can not enter the guest info until you know for sure.
