  1. Just wondering as we are on the Silhouette this Saturday, what happens about muster as it is most likely around the same time as England kick off. Can they move the timing around?

Oh no I never thought lol. Can’t see them letting it clash with the match! Let’s keep our fingers crossed! If they are one missing it’s me in the theatre :-|

  2. I always book what I feel is a decent enough deal online. I do however keep an eye on the prices and if the booked excursion becomes cheaper just cancel and rebook at the favourable price or book another excursion that’s added to the port call you may prefer. Same with dining packages - you are sure to at least get a 20% off deal once as your cruise departure approaches. You can even cancel when you are on board ship up until a day or two before.

  3. I’ve been keeping an eye on the price fluctuations too! I know our £ is up and down, but they vary so much. I booked several (reasonably priced) ship Baltic excursions shortly after booking as well as a 5-night dining package for 3 people. A month or so ago I had an email offering a good %age off dining packages and some excursions too! I just cancelled and rebooked saving over £200! My tip is to go ahead and book it, in the knowledge you can anytime cancel and rebook if a better deal comes along.

  4. Please can anyone describe just how MDR breakfast works on Celebrity, particularly Silhouette though I suspect they are all similar. I was kind of hoping it would be a table service similar to Cunard but I read somewhere about people queuing up!!! Also other than chargeable speciality restaurants, where else are guests charged for meals or snacks onboard? Again just curious before we embark!! Thank you.

  5. Any suggestions for trips and tours etc. during our Baltic cruise next July.

All the advertised official tours seem astronomically expensive as is a Russian Visa! I know certain official tours do not require individual visas but even the local companies charge a mint! We are not really keen on deep, cultural experiences but just want to make the most of Copenhagen, Tallinn, SP, Stockholm & Germany for our 12 year old daughter.

All tips and info, including advice about obtaining currencies would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

  6. For a living I work in web security. Daily I get upwards of 75 emails excluding all the spam I sadly get. Early next year we are going to St Petersburg in Russia. ‘We’ being my wife and 11 year old daughter. For this holiday like all our others I am NOT taking my iMac, MacBook, iPad Air, iWatch or even iPhone, my wife’s not taking her iPhone, kindle or iPad and my daughter is NOT taking her iPad or iPhone. We are just taking an old phone for emergencies that takes calls and sends texts. Appreciate everyone is different but it’s no holiday for us if we are continuously ‘connected’ like we are at home! Ooops got to go, Amazon Alexa timer is going off!!! :-(

  7. Shame you have had a bad experience in Naples. We (myself, wife and 20yr old Daughter) stayed in downtown Naples for 3 nights after a two week road and rail holiday. We had absolutely no problems day or night. Unfortunately I think though some less savoury characters rub their hands when they see white 100,000 ton mega ships cruising in to port so when I’m cruising I exit the ship and walk the opposite direction to throngs of cruisers walking into lair!!! Doesn’t always work mind you!

  8. Uk cruisers paying in $ or € consider a MasterCard from Halifax called Clarity. No exchange fees (usually up to 3%) and always as good an exchange rate as anywhere. Just a nominal charge made for cash withdrawals till bill settled.
