  1. Are you the lady recently sailed on QV and staying in Room4187 and who has lost a lovely 1920's style evening bag? If so,we found it at the back of a wardrobe when we were packing to come home last Saturday. We handed it to Claudio, the butler,so it should be on it's way to lost property in Southampton.Hope you are reunited soon!!

  2. We got the visa ourselves, which wasn't a big issue in 2009 (fill out a detailed application, wait at the consulate to submit it. Come back a week later to pick it up).

However, now that the SF consulate was closed, no longer so easy.

We used ALLA tours in St Petersburg.Fantastic.Superb guide and minibus driver.Nothing too much bother. One of our party has a mobility problem and they were brilliant with her.Found a wheelchair to take round the Hermitage museum.Highly recommended

  3. 1.Muster drill

2.People who pile their plates with food in the Lido and leave most of it.What's wrong with taking a smaller portion and going back for more if they are still hungry?

People who don't wash their hands after using the toilet and people who avoid the hand sanitiser, especially when entering dining areas.

  4. Thank you,Kentchris.I see what you mean. You are right.Hubby insists prices in boxes along top should reflect with and without flights.I think he is being pedantic, have to say this is his "beef". He books the cruises,I just go along with him (gratefully!!!!!)

  5. My husband and I are looking at the Alaska cruises on QE in 2019,in particular Q918A from Vancouver to San Francisco. On their web page"Choose staterooms and fare types"'boxes along the top list prices"from..........".If you then go into the actual fares for the different types of staterooms they bear no comparison to these fares and are much more expensive.Eg,Inside from £1899pp.The cheapest price quoted underneath for an inside is £3029!!!! The same applies for other types of staterooms. My husband queried this with Cunard who said that the cheaper prices had been Cunard Saver Fares but they were not now available.Methinks the website needs amending!!

  6. We were on this cruise. We were told by the Commodore that bad weather was expected so our speed was increased to almost maximum in order to arrive early in La Coruna and avoid the bad weather. Some passengers took advantage of this and went ashore for the evening. The following day we were advised to expect a rough start from La Coruna and so it proved. It was never frightening, however, and only what one might expect from the Bay of Biscay. We had a comfortable night with only a little movement. We had problems disembarking at Southampton as a strong gust of wind blew QV away from the dock and the air bridge was damaged. It was unable to be used and we eventually disembarked using 2 gangways.

  7. Yes,as soon as I received the email from Cunard about the new ship I thought Queen Alexandra would be nice. I hope I can be on her maiden voyage.I remember when Queen Elizabeth made her maiden voyage. We hadn't got into the cruise habit then and the Waverley Trust put on a trip on the Waverley from Portsmouth to see her leave Southampton. We sailed up Southampton Water to see her in dock and then followed her down to the Solent.I was so envious of the passengers on board that beautiful ship and told my husband that I would really like to be on board.Little did I know then that we would soon become members of the cruise fraternity. We have done 16 cruises now with Cunard and most of them on QE. Funny how life turns out!!
