Thank you so much for all your replies.

You are right, to see the island and go to the beach for swimming now in November is not a good idea. We are sailing out of NYC on November 21, on NCL Gem and I was going to check if St. John was affected by a hurricane, I thought it was, but did not check yet. I hope to visit the island next time. My heart goes out to all that have been affected by this disaster.

We are going to Antigua- first port, Barbados, ST. Lucia, St. Kitts and St Thomas on November 21 out of NYC.

It takes three days at see to get to Antigua, not including first boarding day and two days at see to get back to NYC.

Is there loud music playing in the outdoor place your have mentioned or is it quiet? I like to listen to ocean and ship sounds, not the constant music playing. Are there chairs or loungers you can put your feet up on? Is there any shade? I can not be under the sun a lot. Is it only one small area where buffet is or there are other similar areas with chairs on a promenade deck?
