  1. Good Afternoon fellow 2018 Cruise Brides!

My Fiancé and I just got engaged last week on May 2nd and I already have the 30 rooms held on the Carnival Victory cruising to Cozumel Mexico May 7-11 2018! We have already had 12 people book before the save the dates have even gone out! We plan on having a symbolic ceremony in Cozumel Mexico at Nachi Cocom Beach Club and getting legally married before we depart. I have attached a picture of our Save the Dates for anyone to see. Ive also attached the link to our wedding website (its not completely done, but I'm only a week into the engagement so I think its pretty good so far lol). Save the dates are being sent out tomorrow. I also have already bought by bridesmaid dresses and shoes and will add pictures if anyone would like to see those just let me know!

Some more details about my wedding planning so far: My fiancé decided that it would be cool for us to do our bridesmaid and groomsmen proposals with a Mexico theme. Therefore we have bought a bunch of mini sombreros, mustaches, nd flower clips that we are sending to the potential wedding party along with mini bottles of Jose Cuervo and a lime. Along with the items an instruction letter will be attached. In that letter the wedding party will be instructed to take a picture of them wearing the items listed above and taking the shot and send that picture to us to accept being apart of the wedding party. We will then take the pictures and create a poster to be displayed at the wedding with description of who each person is and how they know the bride and groom.

For Nachi Cocon, we are having a symbolic ceremony. We will be having the Mexican buffet dinner option (because how do you get married in Mexico and NOT eat Mexican food). One of our family friends will be coming on the cruise to celebrate with us and she and her daughter will be doing our photography. we are also getting the additional extras of the Mariachi Band to play during cocktail hour and the fire dancers!

We decided to invite anyone and everyone to our wedding as to not hurt any feelings. We planned on only about 50 people coming but after having 12 people book before save the dates even went out, I'm guessing we will have much more! Which I am thrilled about!

I would like to put welcome bags together for all of our guests coming on the cruise, so any ideas are welcomed!

Congrats to all of my fellow brides!!!! I know you all must be just as excited as I am!!!

Congrats! I chose Nachi Cocom too!!! If you remember let me know how it goes. I've had a pleasant experience this far. Your wedding website is too cute

  2. As to the 13 year old,get her the Refreshment package. This covers everything but Alcohol and Starbucks. She will really be glad you did. I believe it is currently $26/day, but watch for sales. In August we purchased it on sale for $18.

Thats what I was thinking. I didn't want her to feel like she had to choose what to drink that day. Will I get an email on the price drop? How should I go about checking for sales on the beverage packages?

  3. Just to be be prepared for anything make sure you have travel insurance. Since you are cruising during hurricane season, the possibility exists that you might not make the port where you are doing the ceremony. Have a back up plan just in case. Most likely you will be just fine but you will be a lot more relaxed if you plan for everything. I think Royal has a specialist for wedding parties that can assist you. As for the dancing, you girls can hit Bolero's or if it's later, head to Olive or Twist.

Ok, I told everyone in my party to make sure they purchased the travel insurance. Thankfully the resort we booked for the ceremony will give us 100% refund if we can't make the port due to weather. Bolero's sounds fun!

  4. With regard to formal dress, the cruise line does not enforce any dress suggestions, so you cn pretty much wear whatever you want. You will see the full range of dress, from tuxedos to shorts.

    No more midnight buffets.

Thank you, this makes me happy about the unformalness of the formal dinner. Some of our family really hates dressing up to fancy and I wouldn't want them to miss out.

:( to no more midnight buffets. It was so much fun.

  5. Hi everyone! I am booked for 9/30/18 on the Liberty of the Seas and am super excited. My partner and I are going to be getting married on a resort in Mexico so that part at least will be done off the ship. I cruised a couple times when I was 15-17 but don't remember everything. So anyways I searched a lot in this thread and still have some questions and am open to any tips you may have. Thanks in advanced.

    1. I have a few people who are bringing children under the age of 4. Does anyone know what the rates are for the night time babysitting? Also, any info on the kids activities during the day?

    2. We want to have bachelor and bachelorette style parties the night we embark. Any suggestions for where the men should go to drink and have a cigar and where the women should go to dance the night away?

    3. I found the drink menu but it seems to be sans specialty coffee. Does anyone have prices for the specialty coffee drinks that are covered in the beverage packages? Also, I'm paying for my cousin, 13 yrs old, to go and I'm going back and forth on getting her the beverage package that has sodas, milkshakes, etc. Any thoughts or suggestions on this?

    4. For the formal dinners, how formal is formal enough to pass?

    5. I remember when I cruised before that was there was a "midnight" dessert bar. It was the coolest thing. Granted this was over 10 years ago, is this still a thing?
