I did tell my kids that they were not aloud in the pool area or lounge so as to not disturb the adult guests (they did however sneak in to grab a couple cookies).

I would never do that, because all paid for it. And kids do make some noise,  they are kids!

If adults want it quiet, go rent a private yacht or use the outside haven deck.

I tell my kids we are not alone there and not to scream. But if they are running and it gets a bit louder some time,  hey they are kids.

Do drunk adults or loud speakers, how often do I have to listen to the conversations when I am in the restaurant and dont want to, look out for you? no.

  2. Well those Villas look great, but $489...incl latitudes discount and shore  excursion credit is still pretty much for one day on my upcoming cruise. I think we might just take a tender over and return and enjoy an empty ship. I think the buffet wont be better than the Haven restaurant anyway.

$250 would be max for us,  but that probably wont happen.

  3. So 50% penalty would be of the cruise fare only...you should get taxes and port fees and even the service charge for the "free" drinking package back (maybe even a CruiseNext deposit)...correct?

So for example on one of my next cruises...5700 total...but if I substract the above...3800 left...so that would mean I would loose 1900...still more than 900 less than what you might think first... so only 1/3...not 50%

Maybe that helps you a bit...

In the Haven the concierge and the butler are not included in the auto service charge.

    From NCL:

Not only will you have access to all the ship has to offer, you'll enjoy the personal service of a concierge and 24-hour butler throughout your entire stay.

As I said b4 if they go beyond the expected...fine...but if not...I dont tip em..

    But that is just me

  5. So you pay for the haven and Butler and concierge usagage are incl.

So I only tip if they go beyond the expected...but what is beyond...

    Bringing you snacks...no

Room service (not a whole dinner...maybe some pizza or chicken wings)...incl...$1 or 2 per order...just like in a normal balcony...

Now if they would bring me drinks...but they are not incl in the beverage package...so I rather go myself...

Escorting you around the ship to a show or shore excursion or disembark...that should be included...

Same for the concierge...making reservations for a restaurant...or show...should be included...

Now if they do something special... so what is really special?

Waiter in the haven restaurant usually get nothing.. most of the time there is someone else...so who do you tip...and what about the chefs?...they do the hard work...if the steak is bad a nice smile wont help me

Same for the bartender...if they are really good...$10...but since we dont drink alcohol... hell they have a hard time making virgin drinks ...ouch...

Last cruise in la cucina...we ate there 4 times...11 day trip... very good food...bartender made the best virgin drinks in board...we slipped her $20 tue last evening...because they were really special...

And the Service charge is also higher in the haven...

So on a 7 day trip...just normal stuff...

Maybe 20-30 for the room steward...if he is fix and has our room ready when we go to bed...

Butler...maybe 20...if we do use room service...

Concierge...I really dont know...but so far never more than 20...and when I think back even that was too much...

    But thats just me

  6. Yes just hand over the coupon and you should be good...

On my last cruise  I used the coupon At le Bistro just like before...well last evening we ate at la cucina...and all our SDP credits were used...

No problem they fixed it when I explained I used my platinum coupon in le Bistro...but even stranger...I dont know how this could happen...I did check the le Bistro receipt later that evening...and it clearly stated...platinum in it...I am pretty sure it did...

You can substitute an item from the a la carte menu for 50% of the price, so, yes, you would 'lose' your main course, but your wife won't be impacted.

    Thank you...

    That would be perfect...

I do think 2 nights at BC are enough though during our 7 das cruise...

But I am not sure...since this will be our first on MSC and YC...and my wife likes her filet almost every night (only cruising NCL normally), but from what I read you can a filet every night in the YC restaurant even if it is not in the menu that night.
