  1. I was notified via email for a May cruise that my TA was not approved (my negative test file did not upload correctly) the day before embarkation (stress!). I was sent a link to re-upload the needed file, I did and it was approved within an hour. I think that would likely be the same process for you once the application was complete if they didn't accept the unsigned passport for some reason.

I've heard of folks having more luck calling than emailing for specific questions. Good luck!

  2. Just got off a B2B on Freedom, we didn't get any printed cruise compasses that indicated when formal nights were and I didn't see it indicated in the app. I didn't see many dressed up as in past cruises, but I just dressed up when I wanted to. I could have missed something of course, they were my first cruises since 2020 and the changes.

You can bring a towel from the ship or get one one there.

    Happy Travels!

  3. We are booked on this cruise as well (couldn't say no to the great prices last week!). I went down the rabbit hole and checked out the social media for the cruise and it looks like the charter will likely be/has been canceled (?) (perhaps the reason for the lower prices now?)

But at any rate, we've been on a few cruises with partial charters and have only had some daytime venues closed for events, with minimal impact.

Either way, looking forward to March and the first time on Anthem!

  4. We did it on the Breeze last year and I agree with everyone that it was worth doing once, but I don't know that I would repeat due to the length/repetition of information. Carnival as a line seems to have the lowest price for a behind the scenes tour and they included a lot of extras (drawstring backpack, baseball hat, lanyard, bracelet, drink and snacks at the end) that I don't believe other lines include. There is a lot of walking and standing for long periods with no option to sit, steep stairs, etc. if anyone in your group has mobility issues. If you are interested in the operations of a ship, I would definitely recommend it!

How did you manage to get an upgrade?  Paid?  Luck of the draw?

We made a bid through MoveUp. It’s the first time we got one. We had good price to start on a sky suite last year and bid not too much more than SS were going for a month or two ago. Very excited!

we celebrated our anniversary last cruise at Le Petit Chef. It was actually GREAT. Because the room is all having this unique experience together it was like a big party. At the end we had a ball with the amazing animation and food, and then the whole room sang happy anniversary - we all walked out together as new friends the rest of the cruise.

Wow— What a great crowd and experience!

  6. We are on the Feb 29th sailing. We were in a sky suite on Infinity about two years ago and really enjoyed the experience, especially the tea time every afternoon in MC. We haven't ever gone to any specialties on Celebrity, but I figured if we have the option, we might as well take advantage! Though we did enjoy Luminae for all breakfasts and dinners .

  7. We just received an upgrade to a Royal Suite with the unlimited specialty dining amenity and I am looking for a recommendation for what would be the best romantic ambience (I know food quality is subjective!) for a 10 year anniversary dinner. We will be on Infinity, so we're looking at Qsine, Tuscan Grille or Luminae. We have dined at Luminae for a cruise a few years ago, but neither of the specialties before. Your advice would greatly appreciated, I have been lurking for years and always find great tidbits of info 🙂

  8. Sure, glad to help!

We did not have time to do anything else, the bus drives up to the house ( which is maybe a mile(?) away from the other areas) and drops off/picks up there. On the way back, we did stop at the gift shop/main bus drop-off area for about 15 minutes to look at the shop, but this was at the request of a guest, not scheduled.

There were many excursions based out of this main area with lots of buses coming and going to port, so it might be possible to catch a later bus back, but I don't want to steer you wrong :)

We were out of Falmouth both times and I would say possibly 2.5 to 3 hours total, with 45 minutes- 1 hour looking at the estate and 30 min for tea and 20-30 minutes each way travel.

Let me know if you'd like anymore info!

  9. We are thinking about this excursion in March. I have some mobility issues and can't walk for a great distance. Where do you catch the boat in relation to where our ship is docked. How much (if any) walking is required during the excursion?

    Ray

The boat departs from the "Buccaneer's Bay" area (the first left after the pier and is very close to the dock.) The only walking we did was to board the boat (there was a ramp down to the dock and I believe there was a ramp to the boat from the dock-- although I'm not 100%.)

  10. I know this is an old thread, but for anyone interested: I did this excursion twice with RC, once with my SO (both in 30's, he was fine with whatever XD) Dec 2015 and once with my mother (60's) May 2017. Both times were a good experience, the bus ride was about 20-30 minutes, but with a fun narrative guide. The tour guide once at the house was good and knowledgeable. The informal tea/lunch had many teas to choose from and was sensitive to dietary restrictions ( observed, we did not have any) We had scones, sweet breads, fruit, tea sandwiches, jerk chicken and a cookie. It was enough food for a lunch and we did not leave hungry. The location was beautiful with many flowering plants, vistas and hummingbirds. Tour was professionally run and on time. The second time was better in my opinion, but I think it was more to do with the specific staff rather than the structure of the excursion. I would recommend it for anyone looking to do a relaxing, cultural excursion.

  11. Also has anyone done the Labadie Traditions? I am a little leery of these culture ones for this spot as I was not too impressed with the folks trying to sell their wares aggressively to people the last time we were there.

We did the Discover Haiti Coastal Cruise in May this year (me 35, and my first time cruiser mother --let's say 60+ ;) ) it was a nice, low-key tour. No aggressive marketing, just drinks for purchase aboard. Short enough that we could do beach/lunch after. Crew were fun and informative, even with a slight malfunction. I enjoy the cultural tours vs others and this one was a positive and scenic.

  12. I did see a young one once on Liberty with two cones, one in each hand, operating the self serve ice cream lever with his mouth. I did alert a nearby staff person, who jumped right in and wiped it down. Suffice to say, it turned me off to the self-serve ---for about a day because I have serious cravings XD
