Jammy Bun, I am glad you made the leap and booked this extension. We were there with LeRenardrouge and her husband. I wanted to see more of that incredible country and this extension brought us to so many breathtaking vistas. I felt we were very well taken care of by our knowledgeable guide and our driver, even when we hit some nasty weather. It is one busy 3-day excursion where you are on the go each day with lots of walking, visiting great little restaurants, touring villages and cities and learning the history.  Makes me want to go back to see even more! Well worth it!

I can so relate to this discussion! Before our last cruise FedEx was rolling up to our house just about every day, most;y with JJill. It was kind of like Christmas every day - with the deliveries and the credit card hits.

We just got back from our Med Odyssey Cruise. We kept just missing the worst of the weather, though did have to miss the port of Naples because the wind was too strong to let the Sky pull away from the dock in Civitavecchia - even with two tugs. Just missed the storms in Venice, again by hours.  We were drenched in Florence. This is just crazy! (Good news is most our days managed to be excellent weather)

Viking did take care of is. Those on the Sky now, how are you doing??

Really? When you have business class tickets you get to bypass the long lines for Passport Control/ Immigration?? CDG too? If so, another justification for spending the extra airfare.

When you have them picked out and booked, go check your Calendar to make sure all show up. Thankfully I checked and apparently one excursion was not purchased. So, I just went back to the Wishlist and made sure to finish the transaction. I happily got all on my list.

Did you order all at once and then try to pay for all the excursions at one time?

So when you are booking your excursions, do they give you the option to apply the OBC each time until it is used up? I was told to choose and pay for excursions one at a time.

Yes, it is nice to get a choice! We didn't get one, but that is OK. Hard to choose when you don't know a heck of a lot about them, right?!

We are scheduled to stay at Villa la Veronica in October at the end of our Med Odyssey cruise. I am finding their website works well and have no problem accessing it. Maybe try again? The reviews I have found look good to me as well. Being a planner, I have been checking around a lot. I am actually very excited about the place because I am thinking it has to be great for Viking to trust with their guests. I am guessing either villa would be excellent!

We have booked our first Viking cruise for this October, with a TA. Our cruise is 13 days plus a 3 day extension. We received only $125 each in OBC. From these listed Terms, it should be $300 each. Are we screwed out of the extra OBC at this point or can we fight for more?

Do any of you book more than one excursion a day if they are relatively short and have at least an hour between? Obviously this would not pertain to VO ports where there is a long distance between the port and the town.

Viking must be diligently working on improving excursions. Our 10/16/2018 Med Odyssey cruise is only 107 days out and still they have not posted any excursions. I prefer to believe this delay will result is less scheduling conflicts and a new selection of choices. (Crossing my fingers)

I understand the request to do Amalfi in half a day. Our cruise in October doesn't dock in Naples until 11 AM and because it is fall, it gets dark early, plus departs at 9 PM. That makes many of the regular excursions impossible. Any more suggestions?

Yikes! 200 steps! A required route to get out? I have always wanted to see those falls, but not excited about the climb.

We actually get port at 12 PM on Saturday 10/27 and the ship stays the night. So, we do have the afternoon in Venice. Sunday is disembarkation day and when we leave for the post cruise extension, Tuscany, probably early in the morn. I wish we had more time in Venice to tour, that's all.

Must be designed to get you to go to a hotel for a night or two after getting off the ship.

That helps a lot, bcorre2! Sounds like a fantastic line-up. Hope my feet hang in there for all the walking tours! Now I know where to focus my excursion wish list for Livorno.

I suppose they will whisk us off the ship fairly early in Venice.That is my one regret - not having the opportunity to spend another day in Venice. Oh well, next time! Azulann, sounds like you did Tuscany right!

We are doing the post cruise tour- the three days in Tuscany. Can anyone tell me how much of that includes parts of Florence? I would hate to waste time ( and potentially money) for doubling up on the same places.
