It is ok, I got all excited thinking I had missed something but we're also booked on a cruise in November that has a full spa, so I'll be taking advantage of that.

I haven't been on the Joy, but we have sailed in the Haven on the Escape, Epic, Getaway and Bliss. The bartenders in the Haven are the Cream of the Crop. Have them make you a "Smokey Old Fashioned". It's quite a show. You will love the Haven.

I am a fan of Old Fashioned's but it is hard to find someone to make it correctly, trying one Smokey sounds right up my alley.

My husband and I are cruising in our first Haven suite in January on the Joy, but this is only our second time on NCL (last one was only 3 days for the kiddo's birthday).   What are some do-not-miss foods or drinks to try while we're aboard?  What are the best lounges/bars?

Haven't had an opportunity for a Guy's burger yet. Sailing on the Elation next month and will try one then.

 

What makes it so special? Good meat? Cooked properly? Toppings?

They are actually cooked to order and made with good tasting meat. There is a great selections of sauces. The toppings are plentiful and flavorful. They even have gluten free buns available! Went on two cruises recently, one with GBJ and one without, it is a world of difference. Like comparing McDonald's to Five Guys or Jack in the Box.
