  1. I was wondering if anyone knows if the pool on the new Onward is the same as the Quest. I was looking at photos and they look the same. Does anyone know the depth of the water in the Onward pool. I like a depth of between 4 and 5 feet to be able to do my aqua exercises without water over my head. I have been on the Quest and the pool worked well for me.Thanks for any assistance you can give.

  2. We are BC residents travelling on a round trip Alaska Cruise from Vancouver at the end of this month.

My husband had a CT Scan to check his lungs and it was discovered he had mild emphysema and COPD.  An incidental finding d also discovered he had pulmonary hypertension.

He is scheduled to see a cardiologist in the future (Don't have a date yet).

Does anyone know of an insurance company who will cover him in this in between time? Willing to spend for a high premium as it will  probably still be cheaper than the single supplement  for me (it is a sibling trip for me so I would still go).

    Any leads greatly appreciated.

The Backgrounder is essentially a press release and has no official weight, whereas the provisions of the Ship Safety Bulletin are enforceable. The Backgrounder was updated on 2022-03-31, just the day before the SSB was issued, which really raises the question, did Transport Canada really change its mind overnight and change from 1 to 2 days? Hopefully they have finally recognized the difficulty for travellers with the 1 day rule and have decided to go with 2 days.

Hopefully the various TC documents will be synchronized in the next day or two, before the Canadian cruise season kicks off.

We are sailing on Royal Caribbean at the end of April and we were emailed this week and told two days.

It of course was with the caveat that it might change

  4. This is the Transport Canada site and it was updated yesterday on April 1. As far as I can see it is 2 days prior for the pre testing: Of course the situation is constantly changing so I will keep checking using this link:

  5. We are planning on using  Life Centers located in Alberta for our Alaska Cruise from Vancouver at the end of April. Cost is $20 for first person and $5 for the second using Google Meet. We can use the free antigen tests provided by the BC Government. Booking times are in Mountain time so an hour earlier in BC.

Had some questions and got a quick response which made me feel more confident this is going to work. Everyone has to do what they feel most comfortable with.39748F86-AE3E-4153-90FA-0750A4CD2517.thumb.jpeg.5e46bee576f5ceeef50bcc28be2fea14.jpeg. Can book at least 4 weeks out if not more. Hoping it works well as there are six of us.

  6. Currently on the Quest. Cruise will end in Muscat on March 13. Passengers advised to fly directly home anytime after 2 on the 13th or the 14th. Will now be given a 75 pct future cruise credit plus up to $500 for airfare change cost. People with beverage packages and full cruise wifi will be given a 4 day credit as cruise was originally ending on the 17th.

Mood on the ship is fabulous thanks to a wonderful crew, captain Davidson and cruise director Steve and staff. My first Azamara cruise won’t be my last.

  7.   Currently on the Quest. Captain Magnus just finished his noontime address and did not make any mention of UAE port closures. He said he had been working on contingency plans all morning.

At this time by the time we get to Dubai if we have no other stops we would have gone through a 14 day quarantine period.

  8. Also on board the Quest. We left Mauritius on Monday March 2 at 5:00 pm and next scheduled port of call is in Oman on Friday, March 13 at 8 am. Azamara will provide each guest a future cruise credit totaling 50% of our cruise fare for this sailing due to the loss of India and deployment changes as per the letter from the captain this afternoon. Still hoping to get off the ship in Dubai on March 17th. Hopefully the luck of the Irish will prevail for a St. Patrick’s day disembarkation.

Mood on the ship is good but feel so sorry for the crew who are also not getting as many breaks because we have no port days.

Can you share how you set the private trip up as that might be of interest if we don’t cancel our South Africa cruises

Going to be on the Quest cruise departing February 20th.  Check out these two companies.

  10. I was reading the website thepreismans.com and he showed this picture of the Pursuit laundry room which showed the soap on board is scent and dye free and hypo allergenic. Do they use this soap fleet wide? We are on the Quest. Photo credit www.thepreismans.com
