Be prepared to open up some socks LOL

Same itinerary every week - I would have thought they would have tried to work some Cococay itineraries in there by maybe alternating between and 6 and 8 day itineraries with some 7s thrown in the mix

Yeah a bit of a bummer.

Don't get me wrong, I'm ecstatic Allure is coming to Galveston along with a shiny new terminal.  I just was really hoping we'd get some CocoCay itineraries.

  2. Our experience has been that the bartenders will make any drink we want, even if it's not on the menu, as long as they have the ingredients.

Yep. Went to the bar and asked if he could make me a Banana Monkey (what they call it at a resort in Playa del Carmen) and he got a confused smile on his face. I said "basically it's a Mudslide with banana" and he said "sure I'll give it a whirl!". Wasn't quite the same with banana liqueur instead of fresh banana, but it did the job.

  3. Just off the Vision yesterday (great cruise and crew!) and we were looking at possibly booking Enchantment for another 4 or 5 nighter in the near future out of Galveston. If anyone is interested in the "why" of the ship shuffle, the answer we got from more than a few people was essentially Cuba demand. Enchantment is being used to cover for ships being used for Cuba sailings (which are high demand and making RCI more money).

So Galveston waits another year to get our summertime (and thus year-round) 4/5 night sailings. Incredibly bummed for those that had their reservations cancelled.

  4. When we cruise we like being in an aft cabin. We book the first day itineraries come out so we can reserve these afts and Royal gets to hold my deposit for 12 to 19 months (usually $900 on each).

I book a backup cruise for these longer TransAtlantic cruises as Royal has a bad habit of cancelling these types of cruises for many reasons. If you don't have a backup......the chances of you getting an aft on one of the other TransAtlantics is close to zero.

I've been burned three times and some others on this forum many times.

Aha, thanks so much for the explanation. For some reason I was thinking you were booking backup cabins on the same cruise. :o
