  1. We were booked on a cruise on the Grandeur of the Seas for March 16, 2019. Cruise has now disappeared from the website. I called Royal Caribbean and they asked if I (or my TA) had received the email for it. Nope. So they transferred me to Crown and Anchor for further details. C and A informed me that the Grandeur has been scheduled for dry dock for those dates (3/16). They had no other information yet and to wait for further updates for booked passengers.

I hope they move the drydock to other dates. Wishful thinking! [emoji6] ;)

Seems so last minute, is that the norm? I’m booked 2/14/19 sailing and ordinarily would not be on a ship a month pre drydock or post ...

  2. Just complaining because I won't buy it for $42 per person. Neither of us drink enough to make it worth it at that price. I would however buy it for the price I thought it was going for. It was just too good to be true, sadly.

And here I am thinking $42 pp/pd sounded like a great deal! I’d book it at that rate ...

  3. I'm pretty sure that the USCG does not charge for medevacs . Additionally wouldn't a persons primary health insurance cover the medical expenses in Norfolk Va hospital ? Don't get me wrong I always purchase trip insurance. Just not sure it would be useful in this particular circumstance.

USCG usually does not request a fee, but they can. I’m thinking more about her travel companion/s using it to fly back to be with the patient ... Although her medical insurance may work in the US, she may incur additional fees not covered perhaps by being out of her usual network. She also would have medical expenses from onboard not covered under her US policy, besides reimbursement for her cruise cut very short ... I see a lot of reasons it would be helpful in this circumstance.

  4. I have a question. I always get gift cards for my Carnival cruises from aarp because I save 10%. I noticed. They have the same gift cards for Royal. Has anyone used them. Carnival allows me to use them for anything. Does Royal have any restrictions for using the cards or can you use them for anything (paying off cruise, obc, drink packages etc.)?

Thanks for any help in this manner. We have been cruising CRnival a lot but spreading our wings and trying other cruise lines. We are doing our first Royal cruise. B2B on the Allure in September. Can't wait.

Royal’s card must be used on initial booking ...
