  1. I have friend that is platinum with RCI and they say the food has gone way down hill in the last 10 years. My first cruise was Princess Alaska in 1992 and it was fantastic, midnight buffets, ice sculptures, steak and lobster, very formal. Since then we have been on Azamara, RCI , NCL, Carnival, Princess, Celebrity, and Disney.

Celebrity was great for adults only and it was very nice. RCL and NCL wont get any more business because of the food quality. We like to eat in the MDR and expect good food. Most cruise lines deliver good food in the pay specialty restaurants. So if you want to pay extra every night pick any cruise line. For a family cruise with older kids we prefer Princess.

My wife's favorite is Princess and my favorite cruise was Disney Magic without kids. Disney does lot of things right and with out the kids we had great time. Food was great, rotating dining was fun, and service was fantastic. Disney had the best entertainment. Adult areas were well separated from kids areas.

Take any mass market 3-4 night Bahama cruise from Miami and it is the same booze cruise crowd, not just Carnival. Drunks are everywhere.

We are taking a 7 night Carnival Cruise in a week. Hopefully the food quality has not gone down hill since our last Carnival cruise in 2011. I have not cruised MSC but have had friends that did and they did not like it. So I never bothered trying myself.
