  1. Hi everyone, I've recently discovered that I love cruising, especially with Princess!

In regards to the Drop and Go prices....how do flight prices come into play?  Will flight prices generally be quite high when the cruise prices are at its lowest?  I'm looking at the 7 day LA to Vancouver cruise on the Royal Princess in May.  I think final payment date is coming up soon.

I've also been looking at the round trip Vancouver cruises to Alaska but can't seem to ever find them deeply discounted.  Are these cruises generally popular so they sell out fast?

I just did 3 days on Royal Princess and got a free drink voucher. I gave it away, along with the free mini bar, to the wonderful Matt O and his staff. I had the drink package so no need for it.

Hmm, I wonder if they changed the qualification criteria.  We are Ruby status only.

I didn’t think to check with anyone because I just assumed they got rid of the perk.  Good to know for next time!

One way to get a free cocktail is to travel on a short cruise where there is no official Captains Circle reception as they will leave a drinks voucher in your cabin in lieu of the reception. We usually use it for a glass of wine at dinner one evening.

I was hoping for that, but no voucher this time, in person or in cabin.  This was 3-days on the Royal Princess.

I don’t know how much has changed, but I got vouchers the last 2 cruises 4-5 years ago.  One was 10 days and one was 5 days.

  4. I just came back from the Vancouver to LA cruise and I must say that the Royal Princess buffet blew me away!

The first night, they had a design your own soup noodle bar.  The soup was flavorful and portion was perfect.  I ate a bowl even after my prime rib dinner in the MDR!

Lunch the next day had a sushi bar.  During a limited window of time, they had sliced tuna and salmon sashimi (long lineup).

I was also amazed by their asian-style bbq meats as well as their huge selection of asian dishes.  They were a hit with long lineups too.

The star dessert for me was their peanut butter chocolate cake.  It was just a random cake on the 3rd night at the buffet.  I love peanut butter so that might be why I ate 2 whole slices in one sitting and took a third slice back to my room.

     Enjoy!

  5. Hi everyone!

This is my first time posting here. My parents will be going on a cruise next year and they will each be getting a $100 onboard credit as part of the promotion at booking. Their question is, can they both use their onboard credit and then top up to pay for the one $249 package or does it have to be paid for by one person only?
