Talk about price gouging, my DW needed cough drops at the airport in Reykjavik. I finally found them and bought them charging in the local currency. When I got my cc bill, they were over $6 American money.😒  And they were not even individually wrapped and were all stuck together.

Fishburger and 2 beers in Iceland was 65.00 US

With the cash sail and sign account I understand you have to put deposit money on the first day of the cruise. Is there a way to withdraw money from it on the ship before the cruise ends if you deposit on too much? I know that Carnival will issue a check after the cruise if you have over $10 left, but as I'm from Europe cashing a check in USD will be problematic for me.

I could do credit card but will likely get charged extortionate fees with it being in USD so would prefer to do a cash account.

Some excerpts from Carnival site where you can find more information on Sail & Sign.

    Acceptable Cards

Visa Card and Visa Gift Card

    MasterCard and MasterCard Gift Card

An ATM/Debit Cashing Card may be used as long as it is a registered MasterCard or Visa Card.

The Discover Card and Discover Gift Card

American Express Card and the Carnival Corporation Reward Card from American Express

Diner's Club and Diner's Club Gift Card

    JCB Card only

Note: Gift Cards may also be referred to as 'secured' or 'pre-loaded' credit cards or 'Travel Funds Card'.

    Unacceptable Cards

Gift Cards and Travel Funds Cards issued by: American Express and Optima

    Keychain (mini) credit cards

    The American Express 'Persona Select'

ATM/Debit Cashing Card other than those registered by MasterCard or Visa Card.

Cash Deposits: If guests use cash for their Sail & Sign deposit, any refundable overages greater than $10 USD will be refunded via check mailed within 7 days after the cruise to the guest's home address on file. Overages less than $10 USD will be donated to St. Jude's Children's Hospital® (excluding the Carnival Spirit® and Carnival Splendor® in Australia). This will be communicated on board during the Debarkation Talk and posted in the daily 'Fun Times'. If a guest wishes to have the full overage in cash, they may retrieve it from one of the Sail & Sign Kiosks or the Guest Services Desk. Refund checks will be reconciled by our shore side Refund Accounting team and distributed via PNC Bank (JPM Chase Bank for Carnival Spirit® and Carnival Splendor® Australia guests).

If you put a non-refundable deposit down on a Carnival cruise will they allow you to move that cruise date and not loose the deposit?  Just curious.

Done it many times,  if you have the carnival insurance the $50 per person admin fee is waived.

I have FTTF for upcoming cruise on the Mardi Gras.  How will the people at the terminal know that I have FTTF? So I can arrive as early as possible to check in to be ready to board when it is time?  I know I still have to select an arrival time when I do my pre check  2 weeks prior to the cruise.  I also have heard that you do not need to wait if you have a later arrival time.  Just show up when I want and they will let me in.  I will then go to the waiting area and wait to board right after Platinum and Diamond and Suite guest. So what proof do I have to show when I arrive that I have FTTF?  Thanks

its on your boarding pass and on your luggage tags

I still get butterflies upon driving up to the cruise terminal and seeing whatever ship I will be sailing on.  Nothing beats that first step onboard and being greeted like a long-time friend.  I love the way CCL treats my special needs dd, who has been on every one of the 34 Carnival cruises with us.

Agreed,  They have always treated my son well every since our first cruise.  Never had to worry about him or whether he was having a great time. and yes i too get excited to see our ship each and every time.

I don't see a difference in number of kids no matter what months I sail, same as going to Disney...August...October..February...May  no noticeable lessening of kids

So true. while school schedules may factor into it a bit its the Parents who make the decision on when to travel.  Our family cruises were never dependent on when my son was out of school.
