    Hello Everyone,

Maybe this has already been answered in the preceeding 109 pages...

We are a family of 7 that wishes to dine together. We have a "Reserve" dining, but kids and grandkids have standard. How do we select a traditional style time together?

    Thank you,

Your kids and grandkids will not be allowed to eat in the Reserve dining room.  You can join them in the Main Dining Room, Specialty Dining Rooms, and Casual Dining.  You can make reservations in advance for Main and Specialty.

  2. We always eat in the MDR the first night.  It is one of our favorite menus.  We always have a reservation in advance and we have never had to wait for our table.  We actually had that menu last night.  If you look on the Live Majestic Princess thread, the menu is posted.  Unless you are om a 21+ day cruise, the menu will not be repeated.  We have never felt the MDR was chaotic.

Haven't been on Princess since covid. I would like to know how the Ocean now and room service operates today.

    1. When I board, if I want room service, what are the procedures to follow?

    2. After the first time I order and pay the initial fee, what are the steps to order in the future?

    Thank you

If you look under the Dine My Wine topic at the top of the page, I listed the items available on the hanging tag for breakfast in one post and food items available from Ocean Now in another.

Correct. No indoor smoking on any ship sailing out of Australia/NZ.   Casino, etc will be all smoke free.

Currently on the Majestic Princess.  She has been in Australia/NZ for months (maybe 6) with no smoking in the casino.  Current cruise has no smoking in the casino.  The casino stinks like smoke.  I assume the smell is in the carpet, drapes, and chairs.  Probably also craps and black jack tables.

The table is sometimes there but they just want to check that it isn't hard liquor or tawny port (yes I got it back at the end)

Why do they not allow tawny port?  We brought a bottle of tawny port onboard in New Zealand and nobody said a thing.

You can but you have to pay extra since the delivery charge isn't included in the standard package.  Get Ocean Now for a one time fee of $14.99 per person to cover delivery anywhere on the ship.

Here's the food and drink menus from last year to give you an idea (items may have changed and prices - for those that are extra - may have also):

    https://profcruise.com/princess-oceannow-food-delivery-menu/

    https://profcruise.com/princess-oceannow-beverage-menu/

These menus do not match what is currently on board.  First, pizzas now cost $8.50.  There is no guacamole and chips.  I did not look any further than that.

I didn't want to start a new thread asking this so figured in here might be best place to ask. I've got Princess Plus for my cruise which says it has room service included, does this mean I could get breakfast delivered to my cabin every morning or is it limited?

It's my first time on a Princess cruise and first time on any cruise where I'll have a balcony and sitting on my own wee balcony having a relaxed breakfast sounds quite appealing.

Yes, you can have breakfast delivered each morning, but it is a very limited menu.  Juices; coffee; tea; milk; water; fresh fruit; yogurt; cold cereal; bread; pastries; pepperoni, ham, cheese pizza muffin; egg, bacon, cheese muffin; butter; jelly.

We asked on embarkation and was told we had to wait until the first evening. So at the end of the first evening we spoke with the Maitre D and asked for a specific table. Our request was acknowledged.put in their system and we were assigned that exact two top table for the entire cruise. Since we had a standing reservation time and table we were allowed to walk in the MDR without stopping at the podium to be checked in. Our entire experience with DMW was anything but a nightmare.

Exactly how it worked for us.  I already have my list of preferred tables for our next cruise.

So I'm late to this discussion, but from another thread it appears Princess is allowing people to wear shorts in the DR. Is that every DR, or only certain ones?  Are they designated per ship?

Does everyone have to do reservations now, or can you walk up whenever you are ready and request your table size?

Shorts are NOT in the included dress code.  That said, some ships (probably all) do allow you to wear shorts.  But you might end up on a ship that follows the dress code and then you could be denied entry if you are wearing shorts.

You can always just walk up.  You might have to wait for your requested table size.  I have seen people turned away because the table size they want will not be available that night in that dining room.

What if your dietary requirement isn't there, such as low salt ?

And my comments on low salt - We are on a 33 night cruise.  On a shorter cruise, we just eat the salt and take water pills.  This would not work for 33 nights.  We did request "no added salt".  We order the night before.  But, their idea of no added salt is no cheese, sauce, mashed potatoes, spices of any kind.  Each meal we get a protein, broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots.  Each meal looks and tastes the same.  We have crossed the Princess World Cruise off our list.  We could not eat like this for over 100 days.  Also, every fish dish has been over cooked.

We have done a 140 night cruise on another line.  We ate the same food as everybody else.  They just took the time to make the sauce, soups, mashed potatoes especially for us and the rest of the low salt group with NO ADDED SALT.

Good news is - we are losing weight!

If it works, great.  We never got the staff to agree to this.  It depends on who is in charge in which dining room on which ship.  If Princess is serious in restoring traditional fixed dining, it will be less of an issue.  It's possible in fixed dining to get a table for two if that's important.

Currently on the Majestic.  Many people have secured the same table for the entire cruise.  Most of our section is "reserved".  This also previously worked on the Caribbean and Discovery.  Which ships did it not work on?

I'm on the Crown mid- June. Yesterday I tried to select a traditional, fixed dining time - as I have done on all the other lines. Based on what I've read here, seems that Princess no longer offers fixed seatings, but plans to resume the tradition in September. Am I right?

Would it be fruitful to speak to a MD once on board and try to arrange a fixed table/time/ and server through the reservation system?

Make reservations in the same MDR at the same time each evening before you sail.  During your first meal in the MDR, whether lunch or dinner, ask the Head Waiter if you can have that table for your entire cruise.
