I was so happy to have finally taken a trip again.

On a post trip when it was really hot, the tour director bribed some gardeners to open a couple of gates so that we wouldn't have to walk as far. We loved that!

Two months out, Viking couldn't get me into Budapest before 7:PM. They couldn't get me in the day before either. On the way back to Los Angeles, I had a connection in Detroit. Despite what I saw on internet, they have contractual agreements. So, I learned, either book earlier and get a better flight, or take a deal and get whatever they give you.

Thank you everyone for your most kind and helpful comments. I must say that a river cruise is so much different. Hopefully, we will be able to eat dinner too!

I am sorry I was unclear. I recently booked the British Isles cruise to find out most of the excursions are sold out. I can still cancel and re-book in 24 months or take a chance excursions will open up. I just wasn't sure if it was worth the risk.

I just booked an ocean trip for the end of April. The excursions are mostly sold out. I can use my voucher and cancel the trip good for 2 years or go ahead and risk it. What do experienced people think?

Viking refuses refunds if you can not take the booster. They will basically keep your money forever. I was a fan and kept my money with them for over two years. This is very sad to say the least.
Viking Ocean, for the experienced Viking River cruiser?

My husband and I could dine alone most nights on the river cruise. In the center of the main dining room are long tables. There were several couples who also did this. The upstairs terrace was great, but you had to get there early to grab one.
