  1. Our cruise, Amsterdam to Budapest with Emerald Cruises starts on 21 October and we have just recieved an email advising of low water levels on the lower and upper Danube, and if it impacts our cruise, they will where possible, organise ship swaps.

No doubt this causes challenges for the cruise companies and is out of their control, so we will just go with the flow :classic_biggrin:, or not as the case may be.

  2. First cruise, river or sea, leaving 6 May from Budapest to Amsterdam with Evergreen (Emerald). Have a few weeks before the cruise and a few weeks after the cruise tripping around. have been to Budapest before and is a lovely city.

There doesn't seem to be too much on Cruise Critic about Evergreen, unlike Scenic or others.

Would be interested on others thoughts/comments on their cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam with Evergreen. Have taken the lower cabins as think the only time we will be there will be for sleeping. Looking forward to the trip.

  3. Hi, we are booked on the Evergreen (Emerald) Budapest to Amsterdam tour on 6 May 2019. Budapest is a lovely city. We enjoyed the free walking tours, Central Market, Chain Bridge, Buda castle, and any one of the hot pools. The evening river cruise is also wonderful showing off the lights of Buda and Pest, especially the Parliament building. We also enjoyed a meal at the Trofea Grill. While a buffet, we found the food to be lovely. Enjoy the trip.

  4. Thank you so much for starting this thread Andona and to all others who have contributed to this. Has been very helpful with all of the added links for planning our May 2019 river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. Nice to hear that the evenings aren't too "dressy". As we will be away for 8 weeks, are looking at the "E" class cabins and wonder if anyone has stayed there, what they thought and if any of the "E" cabins are better than the others or would "D" cabins be worth the extra money.

    Thanks.

  5. Hi

I am just planning our first cruise and have decided on a river cruise through Europe. From all the helpful information on Cruise Critic and others, it has come down to two different cruise companies; Evergreen (Yes I know, part of Scenic who have had their issues) and TravelMarvel.

I have costings from Evergreen and going on the 2018 prices from TravelMarvel, they are pretty similar, so it comes down to who provides the better service.

Although I have read up a bit, would appreciate my fellow travellers thoughts on the reasons why you would choose one over the other. :)

    Thanks

    Roger
