  1. For anyone who has taken the 12 night cruise: How is it that Boston to Portland has a sea day before getting to Portland, yet the 10 day cruise can go from Portland to Boston overnight? The 10 day cruise starts from Boston to Bar Harbor overnight, yet Bar Harbor is further away than Portland?

  2. I received my email and link from ourcruisephotos.com this morning for our Millennium trip that ended on July 13. The email stated that they try to process within 4 days, but was slightly delayed. I happened to send an email to Celebrity to inquire about it just yesterday. It was coincidence that I got the link today, but Celebrity did do a good job of following up on my inquiry. In the end, I told them to disregard my request.

  3. Cruise newbie here. While I enjoy a drink or two, it's not nearly enough for me to spend on a drink package. For me to grab a soft drink while walking around, are there any free options while on the ship? I'm a little confused as to what is included and what isn't. Thanks.

  4. Nothing of note near the piers as it is near the downtown/business district. There is one downtown Honolulu hotel, but it is meant for business travel and the characters that come out at night may be a little sketchy. Downtown does have some great bars and small restaurants. Next closest hotel will be the Ala Moana Hotel that is connected to a large and updated shopping center. Short cab or Uber ride of maybe a mile. Just a little beyond Ala Moana is all of Waikiki and dozens of hotels to choose from. I think that Waikiki to the piers is only about 2-3 miles.

  5. I'll be traveling on Celebrity northbound in July 2018. Is the listing of excursions on the Celebrity fairly priced? I don't mind slight markups due to the convenience of one-stop shopping, but don't want to overpay either. I'd be interested to know if there are other service providers in port that offer credible and equivalent tours? The number of excursions appear to be robust and I'm not complaining that there aren't enough choices, but whether the tours are fairly priced? Thanks.

  6. Your last statement about the Tundra Wilderness is very popular. Just be aware that it is long and tiring, but worth it to many...enjoy!

I was’t fond of our cruise tour, but I knew what to expect, so made it on all the long bus rides...

If you can handle the large group bus rides, you will be okay. At least everything is taken care of! I am used to planning my own experiences, so it was difficult for me to not see the flaws. My DH was fine with it, but totally appreciated where I was coming from...

Thanks! I feel the same way about tours, but the distance and just getting around without having to drive is making me lean towards a tour. Maybe my second trip can be more DIY.

  7. Are you already booked on Celebrity?

We are loyal to the brand, but if you are seriously considering an AK cruisetour package, I strongly suggest you consider Princess - they are the clear leaders in Alaska.

I was seriously considering Princess, but I’m wondering what makes Princess better in Alaska?

  8. We're first timers. The details of the land tour portion is a bit sparse so it's a bit difficult to fully know the differences between the gold rush, wilderness, Talkeetna, etc. tours. Anyone been on more than one and have an opinion? Also, do all land tours offer the tundra wilderness option? That seems to be the most commonly recommended option to take. Or is a DIY land tour package an option? Thanks!

  9. Anyone know if I can book land excursions via the ship's activity desk or should I arrange everything prior to travel? None of the Princess line activities as part of their land tour package excites us, but having the transportation handled for us to Fairbanks sounds appealing. Any tips on how to plan for land activities is appreciated!
