  1. Sorry if I am out of place. Trying to find out if anyone has taken the Viking expedition cruise from Duluth.  If so what was the exact cruise terminal address. Hoping to book a nearby hotel. Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi. Sorry to intrude on the thread but was hoping to get in touch with Pudgesmom and her hubby the ex pilot guy. If she gets this, can she contact Coconutguy from her last transatlantic cruise to Barcelona via message here on cruise critic or at my email addisoniv “at” Gmail. Thanks trying to see if they want to join a cruise in 2024 or 2025 we are planning.

  3. Thanks for the timing info Eager2Travel. I will look forward to any rebate within 30 days of sailing but sooner would let me do some fun things in Miami the day before the cruise.

I agree Pcsrdad. They work super hard for us and I don’t take that lightly. We try to give all our business to one person and vacation frequently due to our “state of life”. Plus we give her referrals and sometimes send her a gift once back.

  4. Hi. First trip on Regent coming up.  Very excited. One thing is unclear to me. Trying not to break any rules here and don’t need any specific info about any Specific TA. Just checking on the typical approach to something any good TA will do for a good Regent customer. Background: I have a TA, I have negotiated a rebate percentage. What I can’t figure out is this: what is the rebate percent given back calculated from? For example if I theoretically had a $30,000 trip booked on Regent via this hypothetical TA and I had negotiated a 10 percent rebate, are there any deductions from the fare total or is the entire $30,000 trip shown on the booking used? If there are deductions prior to the calculation, what might they be? Second question, my TA says she will send me my rebate check 4 weeks after the START of my cruise. Is this normally the timing of the rebate? Have gotten rebates on other trips from other TAs but never using Regent as the cruise line. Thank you in advance for any insights.

  5. I had heard also that papers and magazines had been removed. One idea if you are comfortable with a tablet and happen to use Apple. I subscribe to Apple news plus for 10 dollars a month and download a bunch right before the vacation starts. That way requires no wireless to read them. Books as well from my nook account.

  6. We sure have. Actually started the roll call way back right after my earlier cruise March 14, 2020 got transferred to the transatlantic on 4/5. Can’t wait to put faces to screen names. Counting the days. This is our very first cruise ever so we are enjoying learning all the ins and outs and recommendations from the experienced cruisers on this forum. They have been super helpful and kind. We are grateful to have their wisdom to draw on (and enjoying the various differing opinions on several recurring topics - very entertaining!) our last real vacation was a river cruise and week in Denmark in 2019! Overdue for sure!

  7. Oh great! Thanks for the response. In looking at the hotel on trip advisor, it looks quite nice. The reviews are kind of old except one excellent review from this month. As to the placement of guests by category,  I was assuming there was a small group at each of several different hotels given the number of cabins with pre cruise hotel packages. So assumed maybe it was by type of cabin. Bet the Regent suite folks are not in the same hotel as us commoners! Looking forward to April!

  8. Thank you for responding. I appreciate it. I looked and on the itinerary calendar it says tbd:

“FREE 1-NIGHT HOTEL-MIAMI EAST HOTEL “ . I thought that just meant it was a hotel in east Miami but maybe it is the name of the hotel. There is an “East Hotel” in Miami according to trip advisor. But no other roll callers seem to mention it in their posts about hotels Conrad, intercontinental, oriental mandarin and others are mentioned so far. But not East Miami as a name.

  9. Leaving on 4/5 transatlantic from Miami. As a first timer I am not sure where to look to find out which hotel Regent has put me in and when that info is available. Have tried searching the forum in different ways, but can’t seem to get any results to view. Also do they put different cabin types in different hotels? For example distinctive suites versus concierge suites? Thanks in advance.

  10. As usual, Very helpful information about deviation. I have a different but related air deviation question.  Some background to set up my question. My wife and I were destined to go on our first Regent cruise from San Diego to Miami via Panama Canal on March 14th of 2020 in a distinctive suite.  Needless to say that didn’t happen. We cancelled on the 13th, the day before we had to fly to San Diego. So 100% future cruise credit vs 125% or refund. Feel that was the safest option given we both had medical conditions that would be dangerous if we got the virus. So we booked a Grand Suite on the Splendor transatlantic cruise (Miami to Barcelona April 2022). Some of the future cruise credit was left over (a couple of thousand). So here is my question: can we use this to pay for any of the air deviation fees? If not can we use it to book a post cruise hotel in Barcelona through Regent for a few nights?

  11. Thank you so much. Very helpful and responsive. Should have searched better myself. In another thread, I was asking about the Splendor suite floorplan for cabin 920 because of the pictures on the RSSC web site. . As you can see this floorplan has a nice big square shaped LR with two patio doors and  a private foyer with 1/2 bath. Given that RSSC said the new ship would have the same cabin layouts as Explorer, this should be the exact same floorplan on the Splendor don’t you think?
