  1. Our cruise was one that switched from Eastern to Western and it was after final payment. We could have received a full refund if we wanted, also if you book travel insurance some will reimburse you for the itinerary change. We decided not to cancel since it would have been a headache with flights, etc.

  2. I haven’t been on my cruise yet, but when choosing I looked at all of the sites and decided on the ports of call I wanted and then spoke with a travel agent to help me narrow things down. At the end of the day she presented us with a couple of options and we went with the cruise line that had some better deals offered.

  3. I’d book and travel under your maiden name. 3 months is a tight timeline like someone else mentioned.

I was married in March ‘17, and my social security card took a month and then my license took at least that long. And you need to have the updated documentation if you want to change your passport.

With June being a popular wedding month I am sure it takes longer to process name changes and whatnot with the various federal / state agencies.

  4. When booking through our TA we get a bottle of wine and fruit tray on our departure day, I thought that was a nice touch, didn't cost any extra over what the cruise price was. We actually ended up with a better price on the flight + transfers + cruise than I could have booked on my own. As I said earlier, it's our first cruise, so booking everything on my own was very daunting. Next time, I'll probably do the same thing unless there's some major snafu.

  5. I just booked my first cruise and ended up using a TA, it was just too much trying to coordinate everything on my own.

I could see for subsequent cruises booking myself. But the first time, I wanted someone who can answer all of my questions and take most of the planing off of my shoulders.
