Thanks. Hadn't thought about the RT booking.

We are going on a transatlantic cruise ending in Barcelona. I'm looking for a flight back and am surprised by one way fares from American quoting $3,600 on their website. I can find RT on American for around $1,000. Does anyone have insight into why the 1 way is so expensive?

Niki,
Thanks for the great review. I have a question about room stewards. My daughter and family have 2 rooms and they have not seen a room steward yet and they started sailing 24 hrs ago. The kids are sleeping in the Pullman bed and they had to call someone to make it up. After a full port day, they came back to find the room the way they left it. Do they have enough staff? Do you need to call each day for room service?

I’ve just had my bid accepted from inside stateroom to ocean view stateroom. I also bid on a balcony room. Is there an option to bid again for the balcony room ?
Thanks in advance
Care to share your winning bid? I'm interested in knowing what an acceptable bid looks like.

Can you bring 4 individual(single serving size) 187 ml bottles of wine in place of a 750 ml bottle?

Did you notice if Spotlight Karaoke and the Escape room was open during the cruise?
Thanks for all your posts. It was great to read about your experience.

What times are the shows and do they perform every night? Our first time on Royal and leaving in 2 weeks on Oasis. I'll be following your reports closely.

The deck plans show inside cabins are from 138 to 278 sq ft in size. I was just wondering which cabins have the larger sq ft?

Traveling with kids and saw that NCL had pizza 24/7 delivered anywhere on the ship. This was from quite an old news article. Does anyone know if they are still offering that? Just would like to know what the options for pizza are? We are on the Pearl.

You can ask to come in the day before the cruise, if you're concerned about an overnight flight or very early departure. We used the 2nd guest flies free promotion for a cruise out of NYC. We knew that it would have to be an early flight to get there on the day of sailing and also didn't want to risk delays with winter weather. We asked to come in a day early and they scheduled a direct flight that left at 11:30 am and arrived around 3 pm. It was a fine schedule.

Thank you for the update- but just tok the POM option for the 19th.. too many questions.. if NCL happens to cancel, then go with the extended sailing date option to mMay 2023 or the Full Cash Refund option per their policy.
We also pulled the trigger on POM and canceled for the sailing on 19th. We really wanted to see the ports in the original schedule. Since we were flying to NYC, we also were concerned about having to quarantine in NYC if, by some small chance, we should test positive.
Wishing that you all have a great cruise!

Just got off the phone with NCL reservations and they said 3 days before sailing they get locked out and can't make changes. I guess we will decide later today.
This probably makes sense since you need to complete online check in 3 days in advance.

We are thinking of using the POM to cancel our cruise leaving on Jan 19th. Does anyone know how if NCL requires you to cancel a certain number of days prior to sailing? Kind of waiting to see if NCL cancels the cruise.
Thanks

We did the ncl air 2nd guest flies free for the first time and had similar questions. We asked to go in the day before cruise. This way We avoid Ed a crazy early morning flight. We got direct flights from Mpls to Laguardia/ Newark. Reasonable times. It was interesting that they split up our seating. Since I have both airlines apps I was easily able to go in a d change seats in the app.
The other thing I noticed is that in your cruise summary, way before they issued tickets, you could at least see what airport you were flying into. I thought it worked pretty well and would probably do it again.

With Booksafe cruise insurance, shouldn't testing positive prior to the trip be one of the covered reasons for a full refund?
https://affinitytravelcert.com/document/pdfs/NCL-LandingPage-STANDARD-7-2017.html
Trip Cancellation
Reimbursement if you need to cancel your trip for a covered reason - Cash refund up to 100% of the Total Trip Cost -
Terry8551 - I am also on the Gem for the 1/19 trip. We were sure looking forward to cruising and getting out of the snow and cold (-20 deg F tomorrow morning) but we are probably 70% sure we will do a POM cancelation and get a FCC. There is just too much uncertainty right now.
I hope you have a great trip. I would love to hear about it. -

According to Seatrade Cruise News 10 of 12 Norwegian ships are provisionally green; 2 are provisionally red. Does anyone know which two?
I think that statement is from June of 2020.

The American site just seems weird on the pricing. On Google, Expedia, and others, I can see the one way on AA for ~$1,000. The same flights on the AA site shows $3,902.
