  1. I read these boards almost everyday, but am mostly just a lurker and rarely comment and even more rarely post my own thread.  However, we are leaving in one week on our annual Spring Break cruise! (Yes, yes, I know, Spring Break - but, both my husband and I are in education and we have two teenagers and summers are busy with preseason football and cheer, so Spring Break it is.) We will be on the Mardi Gras for the first time and I could not be more excited!  Looking forward to a week of reading books in the sun with a drink by my side.  What should I be looking forward to at night?  Tell me about the entertainment that is unique to Mardi Gras.

  2. Did you happen to notice if there is a place to rent jet skis by the port in Nassau?  We will be on the Mardi Gras in March and don't have an excursion planned but my teens really want to rent jet skis. (They know they might have to be passengers and not drivers and are OK with that.)  It's not an option through Carnival, and I'm a little uncertain about doing it ourselves...

  3. Random question for you...  Do you happen to remember if the connecting doors in your cabin were able to be locked?  We have connecting rooms with our kids, also, and the only other time we've done this (Harmony of the Seas) the steward had to unlock the door at the beginning of the week, but then we were never able to lock it ourselves, so not a lot of privacy.

  4. Hello!  My teens would really like to rent jet skis while in port. They both have their driver licenses, but I realize that the rules may still require them to be a passenger.  They are good either way.  The ship doesn't have this as an excursion.  Can anyone recommend a good company to rent from that isn't too far away from the port?   Thank you!

Book while you can, they go fast

I can see that!  The sushi, BBQ and ice cream classes are all sold out for our sailing already.  Thankfully those are not classes we would be interested in attending.  We want to book soon, but would like some more details on exactly what we are booking.  The descriptions on the Carnival sight are not very informative.

  6. We will be on Celebration in April, and my teen daughter and I were looking at the various cooking classes offered - specifically the Tailgating, Pie and Cupcake classes. Can anyone provide some details about these classes to help us make a decision on which one to attend?  What exactly do you make or do at each class?  How long do they run?  Do you eat the food once its prepared or just make it?  Thank you!

  7. We will be on Harmony on April 5 - a family of four for Spring Break.  We are driving down to Orlando, so no airplane worries.  We actually just booked about two weeks ago because the prices had dropped so low.  We have no plans of cancelling, but it is nice to know that we have that option if things start to spiral even further out of control.

Easy enough to change, just call and ask to switch.  Just have  to be in the exact same category.

So, here's my next question then... Since it is a Neighborhood Guarantee, the rooms can be in the Boardwalk or Central Park area which are two different categories.  If we wind up with one of each and I call asking it to be switched, will they do it?

I had 2 guarantees booked at the same time and linked for dining.  Received our cabin assignment and they were 2 decks apart and on opposite sides of the ship.  Luckily they were assigned early and I was able to change them to rooms that were beside each other.

Did you just call and asked to have them changed? And they did it? I wonder why they didn’t just put them near each other to begin with! How far out did you receive your assignment? We are looking to sail in April and there are quite a few Boardwalk rooms left and hardly any Central Park.  I am hoping that works in our favor!

  10. I just booked two guaranteed neighborhood balcony cabins on Harmony of the Seas. I am a little nervous about booking two guarantees and having them be on opposite ends of the ship, but it was $2000 less than choosing our own rooms.  I called RC and they said they would make a note on the reservations to have the rooms be as close as possible. What does everyone think? Is it worth the risk? Has anyone ever had any luck booking multiple guarantees and having them close to each other? Thanks for your opinions!
