  1. Unfortunately it looks like there are some bad reviews for Camp Carnival on the Dream. Has anything improved since Carnival has rolled out Camp Ocean?

If your your children have sailed with Camp Ocean what would you say are the main differences in the previous camp?

Does camp still not start until 10pm on the first night? Has the drop off/pick up system been changed/upgraded at all? Does anyone have a schedule (6-8 years)?

    Thanks for your help!

I'm curious about this as well. Have been a bit concerned after reading all of the bad reviews about Camp Carnival on the Dream.

  2. The wife and I will be cruising the Carnival Glory the week of 10-11-14 and the MSC Divina the following week, both sailing out of the Port of Miami. What is the best way to get from one terminal to the other? I'm thinking a taxi but the driver sure would not be happy about such a short drive only to have to go back and get in line for another fare. Don't know if your allowed to walk.

If you have had a similar situation how did you handle it?

  3. Your cabin steward was way out of line. Your comments on the Carnival survey should go a long way in correcting this situation. I hope you used his name in your review to Carnival. (Next time take a white towel from the bathroom if the beach towels are not available)

My wife and I just returned from an 8 day cruise on the Lengend. Our cabin steward was sub-par but not to the extent of yours. We had no room service menu, no ice bucket, no ice bucket glasses, no glass in the bathroom, no crusin/snoozen door handle tag, and when we ran out of tissues in the holder in the bathroom he just placed a box on the wash basin not in the holder (until the last day when new cruisers were to board). He never introduced himself, spoke to us or greeted us. If we spoke first he would acknowledge we spoke.

My wife was irritated but I told her he was old and to give him a break as he did fix each of the shortcomings when we left him a request to do so (except the bathroom tissue thing) and the room was cleaned daily and turned down daily so no big deal.

We did not reduce our tips but the cabin service was not what we are used to receiving on Carnival. They are typically very good. I actually felt sorry for the room steward his age(maybe he couldn't remember names I can't), isolation from his family and the tough job he has.

We still had a great time, and just took it in stride.

  4. While cruising on the Norway, late one evening my wife and I decided we wanted to do a little star gazing before going to the midnight buffet. The best place to do this is all the way forward and on the top deck as this deck had no lights. We reached the top deck and proceeded to walk to the front. There was a metal structure close to the front railing that had an angled wall and a railing you could sit on and lean back and watch the stars, so we headed that way. As we rounded the corner of the structure we noticed a beautiful young woman already sitting on the railing leaning back in her formal gown. That is when I also noticed someone kneeling in front of her with his head under her dress. The young woman saw my wife and I, let out a little yelp of surprise and quickly tapped her male partner on the head and hopped down from the railing and quickly left.

My wife was not amused when I told her I wanted to to be next in that buffet line!!!!!
