  1. On the Jewel as well. It is new policy coming from Miami yesterday or today. Straws are not anymore only available on guest request but completely banned. Don’t give the bar staff a hard time about it, the guideline from Miami was pretty strict the only venue still serving plastic straws is Starbucks on the newer ships.

So can you bring your own straws?

  2. Very subjective compared to peoples taste. Some people only like veggie rolls, other people love sashimi (raw fish), and some like everything in between with raw or cooked fish rolls, etc.

For a beginner who isn't sure about the raw fish thing I always suggest some simple rolls like cucumber or avocado cucumber to start, there's lots of cooked traditional meat rolls like teriyaki chicken or beef, etc. Next step would be something like a green dragon roll which gets into more things like avocado and fried shrimp, and then it goes from there into more of the raw rolls, sashimi, etc.

My love of all things sushi started on Royal Caribbeans Explorer of the Seas - it was something I would never have tried before, but when it's sitting there for free in the buffet and I had nothing to lose, I thought I'd give it a try...now I'm addicted to all of it. ;)

Thank you so much always wanted to try but didn't know where to begin but I will try it [emoji4]

  3. For those talking about sushi, it's the best I've had on any cruise ship. I don't like paying for food on cruise ships but it some of the cheapest sushi I've ever seen outside of LA (no clue why it's so cheap in LA) and is a treat for my life partner and I and our friends/family. My brother and I usually get it when we have a big win in the casino!

What's some good types of sushi?

  4. Interesting thread, we board pride a week tomorrow.

I read up about chopsticks, and I do like Chinese fare...but I like sushi more. ;) On that topic, for those in the know, I've read mixed information on the availability of sushi outside of the ala-carte options in Bonsai. Some threads indicate that it pops up in the buffet (or elsewhere) gratis on several occasions during the 7 night cruises?

And the green waterslide is now officially on my to-do list!

Lol yes it’s on mine two[emoji4]

  5. Green water slide is so much fun. Instead of hitting the gym one day I rode it over 50 times when no one was doing it. Had a blast even though they wouldn't let me go head first hahaha

It must really be fun !![emoji16]
