  1. I think they are happy to get tips in any currency.

However, there are several ATM machines within a few blocks of port terminal. You can find their locations on a map given at the tourist info kiosk just before leaving terminal.

  2. There were many restaurants and bars along the beach to eat at. I don't recall seeing any beach umbrellas or chairs to rent though. For 5 euros there was a ferry nearby you could take to a small island that can be seen from the beach.

  3. I just did a tour first week of January 2018 with K and J tours. Cost was $150 US for 4 hours with 3 people. Driver let us design our own tour so we chose Fort Frederick, Annandale Falls, Concord Falls and Gran Etang Lake/rainforest.

I would highly recommend this tour. The driver(Keith) was very nice and informative. He even stopped at a nutmeg factory for a tour and he won't rush you through things. Each of our stops had a fee to enter of a dollar or two per person. Also, be aware that jumpers at the falls will ask for money to watch them dive. Just kindly say you're not interested.

  4. Just returned from Guadeloupe. Didn't take a taxi tour, but did take a taxi to Datcha Beach in Le Gosier which is 10 minutes from the port. 30 euros each way. Most cabbies only speak French and prefer the Euro. Nice beach but very crowded.
