  1. Sure don't want to embarrass my friend.  I just assumed I would get three cups, since I purchased 1 refreshment and got 2 free soda packages.  And was trying to see if I could pass one along for friend to use in the machines.  But if transfers are against the rules, I'll forgo that.  Thanks again to all for the input.

  2. Can the free soda package for a Boardwalk cabin be transferred to another passenger? Hubby and I are in Boardwalk cabin.  He is fine with soda package.  I prefer options on the refreshment package so I want to transfer the other soda package to friends who are traveling with us.  Is that possible?

  3. I'm curious what you've found out about the MTD at 6pm.  I also reserved all days at 6pm, except day 4 is 6:30 for Oct 13 sailing on Harmony.  The reservations show up on the Royal app, with correct reservations for each day.  But I got an email today saying I needed to make MTD reservations.  I checked the reservations on the computer and the 6pm reservations were not there.  Instead the earliest available was 8:30.  Of course I have already reserved all the shows knowing that our dinner reservations were at 6.  Thoughts?

  4. Ship - Oasis of the Seas

    Deck - 10

    Stateroom # - 582

Stateroom Category – 2D Ocean View Balcony

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard Side

Quiet Stateroom? - Yes. Did not hear any noise form neighbors or in hall, except the children running the halls.

Was stateroom a connecting stateroom? - No.

Balcony View - View from the balcony was not obstructed. Depending on wind, suffered smell from smoking passenger 10 - 15 rooms away. And the marijuana smell while docked at Jamaica was pretty strong. Not sure if it was on the ship or from the port! Besides that, the view was enjoyable.

Balcony Size? - Normal sized balcony, contained two chairs and a table.

Was wind a problem? - No problems with the wind.

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? - N/A.

  5. You can show your seapass card at any bar/restaurant, and they will serve you a beverage with or without the cup. So you don't have to carry the cup around with you. Unless you like the variety of the freestyle machine. Was on the Oasis last week, and one of the the freestyle machines at Sorrento's was never working, and the other always had a line. The machine in the arcade was non-working most of the time as well. So, its just easier to go to a bar, than to get frustrated.

  6. Just came off the Oasis on Sunday. While I am not a runner, I prefer walking to treadmill, so I did use the track every day. The track is on deck 5, which is the embarkation deck. And there is an entrance to the fitness center from the forward section of the ship .. although you have to walk up a flight of stairs to get there! The deck is the entire length of the ship, so it is a continuous oval track, no bends or stairs. There are two lanes .. outside for walkers. The track is all outside, although the tenders block most of the view. This also made for little air movement. Weather last week was low 80s, but if it was much warmer, I would have opted for the treadmills or ellipticals in the cooler fitness center. There was plenty availability of equipment. The aft portion of the track, where you could see the ocean, provided a nice breeze. I walked from 8-9am most days and there were about 5 runners and 10 walkers. It did not feel crowded. There is no water available, the only water fountain I remember was in the fitness center. There were 4 entries from the ship to the track, plus the stairs from the fitness center. There is a sign that says 1 mile = 2.4 times around the deck, so think that makes one lap about .4 mile. I am not sure about the surface. It felt like cool deck, plus several layers of green paint. Hope that helps!

This was my first time on the ship and it was ALL wonderful! Enjoy your cruise next week.

  7. OK. So, I received the upsell email to get the on the waiting list today for our July 29th cruise on the Oasis. I'm not sure it is worth it, but I added myself to the list and figured I would ask on here. We currently have a standard "Ocean View Balcony" and the potential upgrade was for a "Large Ocean View Balcony" for $250 (7 day cruise).

My questions are 1) what is the "Large Ocean View Balcony", and 2) is that price worth the difference? I am guessing not.

I have looked at all sorts of deck plans for the Oasis and have seen some rooms with slightly larger balconies, but the wording has me confused. Even doing a mock booking for a future Oasis cruise doesn't show "Large Ocean View Balcony" as an option.

The Large Ocean View Balcony are category 1C and 2C. The cabin is the same, the balcony is larger (50 sq ft vs 80 sq ft). So if you would like more balcony space, then the price might be worth it.

  8. As MikeBTN reported, I noticed this morning, all of a sudden there is inventory available on our May 28 sailing on the Oasis. There have been no balcony or suites available for at least a month. And less than 15 interior and OV. Most are now showing as available and guarantee purchase only, so have no idea how many are really available. So still hoping that we will get a call for upsell from balcony to JS. I

  9. Is this the email where they ask if you would like to be considered for an upsell for $400 IF they decide to offer one?

I don't think that anyone has reported back that they got the call after receiving one of these emails.

Yes. Almost 5 weeks out and very few cabins available online, so wondering when they start the domino cabin game!! The wording says .. "We’re excited to welcome you onboard soon! As your sailing approaches, there may be an opportunity to upgrade your stateroom for the below price. Secure your position on the waitlist and take advantage of this limited offer. If an upgrade becomes available, we will call you to process the upgrade."

  10. We will be going on the Oasis in May. My husband insists he won't be bringing his phone, but little does he know I am packing it anyway! It is a BIG ship and I do not plan on spending my entire cruise looking for him or having him get angry because he can't find me! Most times we will be together, but when he is people watching or napping, I may be gambling or in the spa! He will carry his phone and text me if he wants to know where I am and vice versa! We are going with two other couples who have been on the Oasis twice already and they recommend the 2 device package for this very reason. It does seem high, but the the onboard credit just about covered it, so it didn't hurt too bad! Happy cruising!
