There is a drop down calendar however would not take the date.

Make sure after you select the date, you tap on Confirm to save it and to go back to the form.

    Ā

Some phones are set to display a larger font and the Confirm button may not be visible unless you scroll down.

Well...it doesn't let me enter the date.....October 31, 2024.... any ideas of how I can contact them?

    Ā

What happens when you tap the date field? No drop-down calendar pops up?

    Ā

Perhaps uninstall and reinstall the app.

    Ā

Under the Profile menu, there's a Contact Us form. You can try reaching out to them from there

It still doesn't let me put the cruise date.....is there a time restriction? like 3 months prior or full payment, or anything?

    Ā

    Ā

There is a time restriction - no closer than 2 weeks prior to sailing and no later than Dec 31, 2024. Full payment is not required.

    Ā

But having said that, the form should let you enter any date. Ā What happens when you tap on the Cruise Date field?

Thats all you need. It wont show up as OBC on your cruise documents, but it will be showing on your account when you board. You just have to trust the process that it will be there.

Actually, it will show up online... Under Booking & Order Details, go to View Invoice Details, scroll down to the On-Board Credits section, then click on the little down arrow.

I got the email that my stock was validated from Stockperks.......so...is that all I need to do, or do I have to submit to Carnival.

I had my stock Fidelity stock ownership validated today however I can not enter the date of my cruise. Anyone having the same issue?

    Ā

    Ā

It's a 2 step process... After stock ownership is validated, you have to redeem the perk to get OBC. Go back to the app, tap on the "eligible" tab, select the cruiseline, then tap on Redeem Perk. That is where you have to provide booking number, etc.

    Ā

  6. I have Fidelity also.

I bought the 100 shares on a Tues.

The next day, I simply screen printed my holdings from the Fidelity portal and uploaded to Stockperks (the transaction hadn't even settled). Ā

Fri I received notice that ownership was validated and I immediately submitted 2 separate booking numbers for OBC.

Tues afternoon, OBC was added to both bookings and I immediately sold the stock.

Super easy and quick and I even made about $75 on the stock sale.

I would be willing to wager he solves way more than you might think.... Ā Never quite understood the love hate thing CC has with John.

    Ā

I just don't understand why Carnival's Customer Service can't appropriately address all customer issues, rather than allowing them to escalate to a "single person" in a public forum.

Why not just use the OBC towards cheers? You can use your onboard credit before you get on the ship.Ā

Except - OBC received from a TA for the booking is usually provided as Cruise Cash and not available until you get on the ship.

    Ā

No idea if that applies to OP or not...

  9. We did the Pasta making class on Mardi Gras. Made fettuccini and a pancetta tomato sauce from scratch. It was a lot of fun and would recommend it. The class was about an hour. There were about 10 cooking stations in the room with 2 people per station. They have all the ingredients pre-measured in little dishes and walk you through the entire process. At the end of the class, you get to sit and enjoy what you prepared. They gave everyone a "Carnival Kitchen" rubber spatula as a parting gift.

    Ā

I've attached the handout they gave us with the recipes.

  10. This problem was fixed by Carnival on Thursday.Ā
    Ā

I had the same problem earlier in the week. Then the system was down most of the day Thursday. You couldnā€™t even make payments by calling in. Around 4:30, it was back up and the partial payment was working.

How/Where do I get a brokers statement? All I was mailed was the receipt for buying it.

EDIT - So I found a statement online but its 20 pages long and has 10/49 of our stocks listed with Carnival in the mix. Do I send them that with everything but carnival blocked out?

You can just send in the purchase confirmation doc, if you have not yet gotten the account statement.Ā

Recently took a cruise out of Bayonne to Bermuda and used Birth certificate and driver's license.

We have B2B Bayonne to Quebec City. And then the return. Can we use the birth certificate on these cruises?

One-way cruises that disembark in another country require a passport - even though you have a B2B to return.

  13. Itā€™s absolutely nuts. why on earth would one application be fulfilled in a few weeks and another takes months?
    Ā

Hereā€™s some other things that may or may have been a factor in getting my renewal so fast.

    - The existing passport still have over a year left on it, but we did it now because of timings of the other trips.

    - I filled out the DS-82 renewal application online and printed/mailed the completed form with the bar code.

    - I indicated travel plans on the application with a date months before my actual travel

    - The photo was taken with an iphone, uploaded to the Dept of State website to crop, then printed from Walmart.com, with photo compliance checking.

    - It was mailed via USPS Priority Mail flat rate envelope

    - Even though I expected this to take 10-13 weeks, I checked the status online twice a day everyday. (Yeah, I knowā€¦ overkill) But I wonder if that bumps the priority behind the scenesā€¦??

    Ā

  14. Just renewed a passport book in about 3 weeks.
No expedited or rushed shipping services - just the standard $130 renewal

    Ā

June 5 - Mailed application via USPS Priority Mail
June 7 - Application received at Dept. of State -Ā Philadelphia
June 8 - Online status shows "In process"
June 23 - Online status shows "Approved"
June 24 - Online status shows "Shipped"
June 27 (today) - USPS tracking and Informed Delivery shows expected delivery June 28 (tomorrow).

So, barring it getting lost in the mail today, 23 days total from mailing application to receiving booklet.
    Very pleasantly surprised.

Regardless, as you say, staying on ship's time is the most important thing regardless of whether the ship changes to the local port's time or not.

    Ā

For me, it is much easier to stay on "ship's" time if they change to the local time. Since I have an Apple watch which will not stay on anything other than local time, (an iPhone can stay on something other than local time, an Apple Watch may not.)

    Ā

As soon as I leave the vicinity of my iPhone the time on my Apple Watch changes to local time and there is no way to know this has happened, there is no alert. The only way to make 100% sure that your Apple Watch is not giving you the incorrect time is to leave the watch at home. If you live near a time zone border the only way to make sure your watch is not giving you the incorrect time is to use a hammer and destroy the watch. Setting the time zone on the iPhone only keeps the watch set to that time zone when the watch is connected to the iPhone. Ā If you keep your iPhone with you at all times, then, that Apple Watch on your wrist serves no purpose and should be disposed of. Besides, sometimes, you run out of battery power on your iPhone, then, your watch will also revert to local time. Ā  If you are in the military and you must stay on "Zulu time". Don't ever use an Apple Watch.Ā

    Ā

Hopefully, Apple will fix this bug. Currently, an Apple Watch Ultra with WatchOS 9.5 and an iPhone 13 Pro iOS 16.5 has this bug. I just tested it again by setting my iPhone to "Zulu time"(UTC) and then I turned off my iPhone and my watch after a few minutes changed back to local time...

    Ā

    Ā

Agreed. For this reason, I wear a cheap Casio watch on cruises, which is simpler to set back and forth and reliably stays on ship time.

    Ā

Smart phone and watch issues aside, I find it a bit frustrating when we are instructed to change the times on our clocks, but the ship does not adjust the time that is displayed on the cabin phones. Recently on the Spirit, the clocks on the cabin phones were wrong for a full day. Ā Forget about confirming ship time on the Hub app, because it was not working and showed ship time as midnight.

    Ā

Luckily, old reliable Casio ensured I did not miss my free mimosa at the 9:30 AM ā€œDiamonds for breakfastā€ event at Effys. LOL

As long as they are consistently including or adding the gratuity, what does it matter if it happens when you book vs when you pay the bill?Ā

It doesnā€™t as long as you know.

But the check you get at the end of the meal does not say gratuities are included, nor does it remind you that you paid them when you booked. No problem with tipping more - but I would like to know that Iā€™m tipping wayyyyyyy more.

    Ā

anyways, apparently this isnā€™t an issue for anyone else. So letā€™s move on.
