  1. thanks everyone. Although St Lucia was the one port we thought we might take a tour it seems that Windstar does a barbeque beach day with lots of stuff to do on the beach. All the windstar reviews rave about that day, so we may just go with the flow. thanks again.

  2. Hi, I am probably not a good person to ask about excursions because rarely do we take them.

on the contrary your thoughts were so helpful. Initially, we were just going to do no research, tours etc, but friends of mine who cruise often strongly encouraged researching. Now i will go back to my original plan of not planning and just relaxing and enjoying the warmth and scenery. Can we assume that there are (safe) taxis available on most islands? thanks for your advice. dd

  3. We love WS cruises, after 22 we do not tire of them. Try it, wonderful experiences whether it is a vacation or a trip. Try it and let us know. I have a feview coming out and I publshed a prereview on this forum. Happy Sailing.

We are going on our first windstar cruise feb 24 star pride. we are trying to figure out if we should book excursions before hand, if the boats dock or you tender in, and can you just walk to a beach. we have done multiple river cruises in Europe where the excursions are all included, so this planning your day thing is new to us. any suggestions would be helpful. thanks diane

  4. Thanks everyone!

So it looks like the tours from Cosol, Spencer and Serenity are all pretty similar. Serenity seems to offer a half day land 1/2 day sail option. I guess it depends upon whom will pick up from pigeon island, as that is where our boat (Windstar star pride) will dock. Im not sure how far it is from where the big ships dock. thanks Diane

  5. We will be sailing on the star pride on feb 24 from San Juan for 10 nights. I am looking for advice/suggestions about the ports and the excursions. Specifically if someone has done the excursions or not done them and what previous passengers recommend. Also the ship allows passengers to bring on 2 bottles of wine. Has anyone done this, and did you just buy them in puerto rico or duty free at the airport? thanks for your help.
