We sail May 29. Copenhagen. How about you?

We are looking at the Alla tour, small group. Was also hoping to have a little free time for local shopping but I don’t see that mentioned. Does anyone else know?

hi. I enjoyed looking at your spreadsheet. I notice there is no mention of free time for some shopping in the market. Do the larger tours that have a Hydrofoil ride also offer a shopping opportunity?. I really like the larger tour but would also like an opportunity to look for a few local “treasures”.

This might be a stupid question, but we are new. Does the currency of the tip matter? We are Canadian, travelling through the UK, then Copenhagen pre-cruise.... I will have cash: Canadian, USA, Pound, and Euros..... does everyone tip in different currencies? What do Brits tip?

You’re on the wrong board, go to the relevant ports of call section and you’ll find all you need/want.

I would expect you will turn your checked bags over to a porter outside. Then get into line inside. During this line you will fill out the medical screening, and turn in when you get to an actual person, who will complete your checkin. Security is next, before you board.

once you arrive at the terminal, what is the process for boarding? Luggage, security, medical screening, by group etc.

How far in advance are these available? We are not at home /near printer for 10 days prior to cruise

I have read a few threads about tours, tips etc but most seem to be for Caribbean or Southern Europe related.

Some northern European countries on the Baltic Sea do not use the Euro.

When booking tours (private e.g Alla) , do you pay cash, in the local currency? Or can these be paid in advance by credit card? What is better

What about tipping in these countries? Local currency only?

I’m from Canada. And our dollar is terrible right now!

I assume the tipping on board is in USA?

I may be looking at carrying 5 different currencies and that makes me nervous!

Any advice?

First time cruise to the Baltic in June 2018. NCL Breakaway. Most tips re beach don’t apply, but enjoyed some of the general cruise tips (I didn’t know walls were metal, so will be brining the magnetic hooks)

Questions

1. Tips. We are Canadian, travelling in Europe... are tips in USA currency?

2. Lanyards not provided? If you want one bring from home?

3. Excursions (private company) I thought would be prepaid by credit card so found the advice re baggies for local currency plus tip intriguing... is that Normal? Pay after tour, with cash?

4. Shower gel and shampoo provided.... is it garbage and I should bring my own?

5. We have the UBP ...saw conflicting posts, first drink free or not?

6. In order to avoid sticker schock on bill at check out, what types of things might be added to my account....should I start putting a little money on my account in advance, is that done via OBC?
