  1. Family and I sailed 2/19/2018 on the Independence of the Seas. SUPER disappointing! Hadn't been on RCCL in a while. We saw a little decline in 2016 when we went on Celebrity Solstice, but overall liked the cruise. RCCL, tho....WOW! I think Carnival just pulled ahead in the cruise wars game.

    Service was BAD!

Main Dining Room Food - POOR! (see photos)

Ship Condition - Not Kept clean/Lights out

And the icing was our experience at Flow Rider....playing music with Profanity! (Killing in the Name of by Rage Against the Machine!) REALLY? With small Children around. (SEE VIDEO)

(See my Review - Just Submitted to CC today). Details everything! (Posted my letter to Richard Fain, CEO)

RCCL needs to clean up their act. They have nice/big/fancy ships, but can't keep up! And the Profanity thing....ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA! APPALLING!

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, How was the play?

  2. Be careful about raising the pregnancy issue. If you are not showing, the cruise line has no obvious proof of pregnancy. And if you are showing, they might want a doctor's note on fitness to travel (there is a 24 week cut off date for pregnancy and being allowed to cruise).

WOW SPEECHLESS [emoji55].... Who cares if she is over 24 weeks prego.

If thats the risk she wants to take. Its on her....

  3. We just called RCCL regarding our April 7th 2018 sailing on Harmony of the Seas. I am pregnant and won't be able to take advantage of the beverage package on this sailing but husband wants to purchase. We have now been on the phone with them going in circles - and they are telling my husband we can only do this if we purchase the normal beverage package for me. Even when I'm not pregnant, I don't drink juice, soda, or coffee - so I REALLY don't do this while pregnant.

Extremely surprised this is being forced on us - this doesn't sound like it should be allowed. Any advice? There is NO purpose in me purchasing any beverage package - all I will drink is water.

Since when does pregnancy = special treatment? They are NOT forcing you to get same pkg as your husband. Haven’t they already accommodated you...

Its the rules, follow them... easy as that!!!

  4. Sorry, working on laptop or conducting business is just rude. Just excuse yourself and deal with it on your own

John&lala, never say sorry, as that word is an admission of self guilt. And can be used as an acknowledgement of wrongdoing. Just stick to your guns and say how you feel.

Had you not began with sorry... your post would have been a valid opinion from your POV. You would definitely not want to be at my table. A bunch of loudmouth NJ,NY litigators who never stop working.

In fact, we have a large group sailing next Nov. on the Anthem. One of my friends actually booked two of his staff in the cabin next to their suite. So work can be conducted. Thats a lifestyle. Not many can live with.

But like everyone else, we all see things with different color filters.

Be well, i enjoy your posts very much. You seem to be well traveled, and genuine.

  5. It’s rude because it’s happening in the dining room.

No, not convinced... it seems to only bother selective people. Who are focused so much so on others, rather than the people they are with. Says lots about ones self.

Playing devils advocate once again, maybe they feel like my wife does. Loosing so much time due to work, every minute in physical presence of loved ones, even working at the table is still time with family. That’s not being rude.

Now, if he/she was playing candycrush, or watching a show. That would be rude. So lets give that person the benefit of doubt. Speculation is not burden of proof.

  6. When my son ended up on crutches on the Allure last year. He had so:e difficulty getting around. I had a 2 minute chat with the F&B manager who subsequently arranged dining room food sent up to our room.

So, i hope you will have the same accommodation afforded to you child.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks! That’s very encouraging. I’m sure they’ll give me a way to get her scrambled eggs in the room. Question: is f&b manager the same as head server in main dining room? If not, where would I connect with the f&b manager to ask about this? Thank you.

I should have elaborated. I called the guest services, they put me in touch with the F&B manager. It was not the same as the Restaurant mgr. I could have easily gone directly to dining room, and chatted with them as well. I would hope the outcome would have been the same.

However, on a side note. I did find everyone involved to be extremely accommodating, and seemed genuinely glad to help. Your situation is more complex because it is a dietary restriction for your little one.

But should be handled in the same professional manner as we experienced.

  8. What a despicable story, if indeed accurate. However, the OP does bring up a valid point. There is a disproportionate amount of pets being portrayed as service animals.

To all true individuals who so desperately need there service animals, this is a slap in the face. It undercuts, and diminishes the true need for these four legged caregivers.

The rules are getting too lax to really weed out those people who are to full of S*@t. Another sigh over political correctness. Don’t want to possibly offend a PHONY NARCISSISTIC idiot who does not come close to needing a S.A.

    Unreal...

  9. How do you know it was not important? It would be naive and ignorant to automatically assume it was frivolous activity. My wife is an international tax attorney. She deals with clients who also live overseas. Bedtime for you, mid work day for them. Business never sleeps. Neither does international commerce.

For some, a vacation does not mean a cutoff from work.

Since we don’t know what this person was actually doing with said laptop. Presenting that as rude, is unfounded and in itself rude.
