  1. Last time we were at Roatan it wasn’t a tender port . Did you guys dock at Mahogany Bay?

That is good to know you were still able to make it.

I’ve been looking and the winds look terrible 30 mph for the next couple of weeks.

Maybe that’s common there this time of year?

The last two cruises I have went on I have felt terrible when we got home! Very dizzy. My husband did also.

The two we went on years ago never bothered us. Maybe it’s something that gets worse the older we get 😂

    We were at Coxen Hole.

  2. I am not sure how windy it was for us last week (Saturday) at Roatan, but it was windy and we still anchored and tendered in. It did slow down the tendering process a bit so it took us awhile to get off (we were at port with another ship which got to dock). Our snorkel trip near Little French Key still happened--the shallow water snorkeling was fine, but the waves were huge when we went to deeper water. I probably would've preferred to skip that part.

Our departure and sailing from Roatan that night was VERY choppy. Definitely the rockiest I've ever experienced on my two cruises. Surprisingly I didn't really feel sick that night, just laid down for awhile before dinner. I am, however, on day 5 of post-cruise vertigo, so that night may have affected me on this end, unfortunately!

  3. The show times were all 7:30/9:30 every night for anything in the Stardust. I think BB was night 3 of our 7-nighter...we went. It was fine, cheesy, but cute (fully admit though that I work in the performing arts and am a bit of a snob when it comes to shows/entertainment--apologies!).

Last week we were the only ship at Harvest Caye so even the clamshell we rented felt a little unnecessary--there were tons of chairs with umbrellas available when we got off the ship on the beach. While a villa would be nice, it doesn't seem worth it for a 1pm departure!

  4. We did an organized excursion with Daniel Johnson's this past week. The sloth & monkey hangout was cool and we really enjoyed seeing the animals--but it was crowded and you spend a lot of time waiting for everyone in your group to have their moment with each animal. We booked a full day with them--we got picked up at the port, went to the hangout, saw the animals for around an hour, then went on their snorkel boat for about an hour. After snorkeling, we left for ziplining. We couldn't go to their usual zipline place because it was closed on Saturdays, so they had arranged another place (South Shore). We did not end up going there but instead went to Jungle Top which is closer to the port, because by the time we left Daniel Johnson's it was already almost 2pm and we had to be back at the ship at 3:30.

I did not feel like anyone was looking out for our timing, even though they said they'd get us back an hour before our all aboard call. We got off the ship around 9:15 (we had to tender) and had to be back on the ship by 3:30. I kept asking if we really had time to zipline and they kept saying yes, but until I asked if there was a closer place to go, they didn't suggest changing our location. Had we gone all the way to South Shore, I don't think we would have gotten back in time! We also didn't really have time for the island tour which was supposed to be a part of our package.

We paid $100/person for all of this, which seemed like a fairly good deal considering the cost of ship excursions. But I felt like once they had our money they weren't super concerned about the flow of our day or maximizing our time and making sure we got back. I'd be curious to know if Bodden's is better--we weren't able to use them because they are closed Saturdays.

  5. We went to Nachi this week. Taxis were easy and they call one for you whenever you're ready to go. I thought it was a really nice beach day but the service was nothing super special. We did not do massages but I think we could've signed up when we got there.

Cozumel was our first port of 4. I'd rather stay at Nachi longer than leave early to explore. The shopping was all the same as the next port (Costa Maya) but Costa Maya's port was just nicer in general. We didn't walk around much further than the little mall area but enjoy the beach day if you can!!
