  1. Thought I'd give an update in case anyone else who needs prism has the same question one day. I ended up ordering the Seavision Ultra with custom ground lenses directly from the manufacturer, and I'm very pleased with the results. Considering that even when I get regular glasses made they often have to redo the lenses at last once to get them just right, I was impressed at how spot on the prescription in this mask was. Haven't used it underwater yet, so I can't comment on that part.

  2. Has anyone done the "Coba Express" tour with cozumel-toursdotcom or playa del carmen tours? They advertise it as being suitable as a cruise excursion. I'd rather do it from the cruise line (carnival) but they don't currently offer a coba option, although they do have a Chichen Itza tour even though its farther away. We're in port from 8-5.

Are there any other companies that do tours to Coba that would be short enough? All the other options that I found combined it with some other stops and would take too long.

  3. Trying to decide between two different western carib cruises, one on the Carnival Miracle and the other on the RCI Rhapsody of the Seas. The price and itinerary are almost the same, so the ship is the main deciding factor....Opinions one way or the other? It's a 7 day cruise with 2 days at sea.

We are a couple in our 30s, leaving the kids behind to celebrate our 10yr anniversary. :D We've sailed with RCI 2x in the past on one of their new megaships, but I have the feeling that the smaller, less crowded boats will be more our style. Budget is also important to us!

  5. Is there anyone who has had experience getting a prescription snorkeling mask with correction for strabismus? In addition to nearsightedness and astigmatism, I also have minor exotropia, so my regular glasses have prism to correct for that. I have a hard enough time getting my glasses done, so I feel concerned about dropping this much cash to buy a snorkeling mask that may not work.

I hate wearing contact lenses, and for the $ money I would have to spend to be fitted and buy lenses that I would throw away after using, I would rather buy a mask that I can use again in the future. Helmet diving does look interesting, but also expensive (and then my husband would also have to pay extra) and limited in where you can do it.
