  1. I thought that Royal was giving double points for cruising at this time. Awhile back they said they were. We are in  JS in April so it is 2 points per night, but awhile ago we were told that we would be getting 4 points per night. Today, I was told by a RCCL rep that it was 2 points. Didn't think anything about it till I was talking to my husband.

  2. Victor Boden tours has a great zip line. My husband says it is some of the best equipment he has ever used. They have a great zip n dip excursion; involving zip line, monkeys, and beach time.

  3. We love Bananarama beach. They offer great deals for cruise ships. They pick up and deliver at the pier. Great food, snorkel, and tours. Also great pizza. Google bananaramadive for info.

I haven’t been upgraded, Elite on Celebrity are Diamond on Royal.

My query was not answered; ‘What are the options for lunch on embarkation day?’

Is it just the Windjammer, or is the MDR open for lunch? Does the Diamond Lounge have snacks at lunch time?

The Windjammer is open. I don't think the MDR is open on embarkation day, but various restaurants are for a decreased fee (i.e. Chops). Depending on the ship, there is food "stands" at various locations (pizza, sandwiches, hot dogs, etc). Last time I was in the diamond lounge around noon, there were snacks and coffee.

  5. I found our "go to" place to stay on Airbnb. It is called  the Schafer Haus and is a 5 minute walk to the Strand; 3 blocks from a great restaurant especially for breakfast (best breakfast quiche I have ever had). It is more like a BnB. It is an old boarding house that they refurbished. There are about 7 rooms. They have a kitchen and do not provide meals but you can cook your meals. It is very reasonable priced for Galveston. Look at their website for much info. They serve free mimosas on the weekend!

  6. Same here. Never have had the items in the cabin. I have to show my paperwork to the steward each time.

Worse was the Allure. I need a medical refrigerator for medication. Never got it. Allure's solution was for me to give it to the steward and they would store it "somewhere (could not state where it would be stored)" until I needed it. Zip lock bags, that we brought, and ice was how it was stored for the week. Not happy. Other time, finally got medical refrig, and it was size of the refrig in the cabin. They brought a 20' frayed extension cord to plug it in. We did not except this (fire and trip hazard). They brought in another one that was not frayed and taped the cord to the floor, but there went a plug!

  7. Will be on the Navigator in Nov for the third time. Love this class of ships. Just large/small enough. There is so much to do or not to do, depending on you. Besides what has been mention, go to the Quest, be early. It is a funny show. Say no to the "packages" they try to sell as soon as you get on if you are not interested. Read and mark on the compass. It will help you plan events and tell you if you need ice show tickets and where to pick them up at.(1x had to have tickets second time I didn't). If they offer the pasta class, take it. It was so much fun. Remember most reviews are to complain. Go with an open mind and enjoy.

  8. (flame retardant suit on). No you cannot use you r drink package to buy for others. This is the reason everyone in a cabin has to buy on if 1 person does. However like posted, you can use your package you can buy yourself one and then pay for 2 extra drinks. It is a nice gesture to want to buy all drinks but it hurts everyone around. If one is caught buying others drinks with their package, the card is revoked and one looses their money. Saw it happen last year. I recommend like others have, place it on their sea pass of get RCCL gift card.

BTW amscene1, I do care. It makes all of us that follow rules get penalized so "your kindness".

  9. May need to look at Voyager class or smaller. Less kids but Voyager has a lot to offer. It is our favorite class. I have seen adults (mainly 25-40ish age) being out of control more than kids. Once on the elevator and had a 25ish man push all the buttons while existing on deck 4 and on the way out stated that he was a kid at heart. Also have seen staff talk to kids and parents. I think it depends on the ship and what the kids are doing.

  10. We are on this same sailing and we are booked at the Hampton Inn Brickell. We got a very good rate too!!

According to the locals here on the boards it is in a very nice area and within walking distance to a number of restaurants and shops.

Thank you, I am looking at them also, especially since they have a free breakfast and location.

  11. We will be flying into Miami this Thanksgiving and will board the Navigator the following day. We are currently booked in the Kempton Epic but may change hotels. Looking for one close to restaurants that will be open on Thanksgiving evening. Should we stay where we are or any recommendations.
