  1. Yes that’s my concern. With what’s happened in the past with other large passenger transportation being taken over I would have thought some protocols would be in place.

    But the video proves not.

Granted with a cruise close to the states I’m sure Th U.S. cost guard would helicopter in and take care of the threat If it was something of that scale.

  2. At first I was shocked at watching a carnival employee kicking a passenger but after learning more I get it. But I think we can all agree it was handled poorly.

The scariest part of this to me is it does not seem like the ships are equipped to deal with a large problem like this. These where young thugs looking to pick on people from what I’ve gathered. What would carnival do if 4 or 5 large men who where trained to fight wanted to take over the ship and worked together to do so?

Only hope I could see is if the passengers stood against them instead of hiding in their rooms. The ships security does not seem adequate Judging by the fine fighting/take down skills displayed by the 150 pound security guards shown in the video.

  3. We was on the Liberty last summer. It was our first cruise so don’t have much to compare it to but everything was great and hooked us on cruiseing. If there was any negative thing I would say it was the behavior of some of other passengers. But it’s a short cheap cruise with lots of people on board so I read it’s to be expected.

We have another room booked on the Liberty later in the year If that tells you anything.

    Enjoy!

  4. Is every customer assigned a sales rep who’s job it is to try to keep you booked for cruises?

Carnival has my wife’s number so most the time she fields the calls but we get them from the person who says they are our Carnival rep more than we would like.

I mean don’t get me wrong if we”re eligible for some super deal we would like to hear about it but when we didn’t have a cruise booked he was calling almost every day. Now that we have one booked he calls about once a month to see if we need to add anybody or book another.

We have always just book online our selfs and he felt the need to tell my wife not to worry he gets credit for cruises we book that way as well when she informed him of this

  5. How much time/money do you have to spend in the casino before you get offers/discounts for future cruise? Just insert your sail and sign card once or spend hundreds of dollars?

Only been on one cruise so far and spent a little time in the casino each day but did not spend a lot of money.

With that being said I got offers recently to book another cruise and it was better than any of the other deals (not by a huge margin ) they was offering me so I’m curious.

  6. My wife and I usually take one carry on for the both of us. I’m guessing if we both want to bring our allowed one bottle on we are going to both need a bag to carry them separate correct? Or do they allow two people with a shared bag to carry both bottles?Pretty sure I know the answer to this but wanted to check before we took two bags if we didn’t need to next trip. Thanks!

  7. I’m a homebody myself and can’t see being away from home for long stretches at a time and enjoying it but I am looking forward to some 5 day and maybe will try a 7.

Will also make sure from now on to book during the week. Thanks for the advice/replies!

  8. We had FTTF and did not get our luggage until almost time to sail (might have been delivered to room after we took off can’t remember for sure). We was wanting to get unpacked early as well.not sure what happened.

So don’t count on it but I would say it’s still worth it.

  9. I know Big deal right! Been lurking on these forums for about a year now this is my first post!

My wife and I took our first cruise ( a 4 day) last July on the liberty. We talked about taking one for over a decade but every time we was about to plan one seemed some sort of horror story would come on the news about sickness or someone overboard and the wife would talk me out of it.

I had planned to make a first timer review of our trip when we returned but failed to do so.But long story short we had a great time bar a few things. The biggest was we were woken up one morning about 3 am to a man whom I would guess was in his late forties puking on the floor in front of our door. We called the desk and thankfully it was cleaned up by the time we got up for breakfast, just some fans in the hall to dry what I hope was cleaner. Another thing was large groups seemed to have no problem blocking the halls, stairs or other choke points to getting around the ship to just stand there and talk. Also was some other little nit-picky stuff but I will leave them out not to sound like a snob. I'm middle class blue collar and not hard to please but when a grown man is puking at your door that's pretty trashy.

But like I said over all we had a great time so fast forward to this year and the wife wants to take our kids on a land vacation to see somethings because they don't have many years left in the nest. So we agree to go on another short cruise for our 18th anniversary this year then next year take a long one. So I start researching. I really wanted to take a different cruise line to see how it compares but after watching videos of different ships and comparing prices we ended up booking back on the liberty for later in the year. So for better or for worse I'm turning red!

I'm sure we will have another great time but being a short trip again i'm worried what i will see next.(yn)
