  1. Hi all! We are looking at booking a Cove Balcony on Carnival Magic. We have stayed in balcony cabins higher up but are wanting to try a cove this time around. The cabin we are looking at is 2365. I have heard some reviews about sewer smells in hallways of deck 2 and on certain balconies and also noise being heard from the galley with the cove balcony cabins. Was wondering if anyone that has stayed in this cabin or anywhere close can comment on your experience. Also was curious if this cabin has a lifeboat overhead? Thanks so much for any and all replies 🙂

  2. Sailing on Carnival Horizon! I really want the lido deck but unfortunately nothing is available :(. I don’t want to be lower then deck 9 but unfortunately there are only 2 rooms still available on deck 9. So my choices are right under the lido buffet dead center or the cabin right outside the door of the imax theatre. Any opinions from those that have been in either cabin type would be much appreciated :)

  3. This excursion is available in Costa Maya. My 20yr old son really wants to do it but I’m a wee bit scared 😱. My husband and myself are both in our early 50’s and have never rode and ATV. So I’m asking for any opinions from anyone that has done this excursion. Is it very difficult? Don’t really want to come home from the cruise with a broken bone, but on the positive side it will be our last port day so if something did happen it wouldn’t ruin the ENTIRE cruise 🤕. I’ve been contemplating staying back at the Port and letting my husband and son do it without me but my husband isn’t happy about leaving me by myself that day. (I would be perfectly Ok with it). Also after the beach portion how do you get back to the ship? Some reviewers said taxis and others said a bus. Please any advice and opinions from anyone who has done this or knows of anyone that has I would greatly appreciate 😀

  4. We will be visiting Cozumel during our Carnival cruise in December. We were planning on booking the all inclusive Chankanaab beach day and sea lion show excursion. I looked up reviews on the Carnival site and they are all over the place for this excursion. Wanted opinions good or bad from those that have been to this park or booked this excursion. We have narrowed it down to this excursion or doing an all inclusive at Mr. Sanchos. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  5. We will be stopping in Belize on our cruise later this year. I am having such a hard time choosing an excursion in this port from the Carnival website. I definitely would feel safer booking an excursion directly through Carnival than worrying about venturing out on our own. If we decide to book an excursion that includes cave tubing and zip line does everyone in the party have to participate in the zip line portion? My husband and myself do not like heights yet I know my kids will love it. Any suggestions for any other excursions through Carnival that are good? This is the only port that is leaving me stumped. I'm almost considering just staying on the ship for the day. Any help is appreciated!

  6. We will be taking a Western Caribbean cruise on the Breeze in December that stops at Cozumel. Was wondering if we choose not to book an excursion is there much to do right at the Port? Are there any beaches right off the ship similar to the Port at Grand Turk? Thanks for any replies :)

  7. We have only done the Eastern Caribbean with stops at Amber Cove, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. We are considering trying a Western Caribbean for December with stops in Cozumel, Belize, Mahogany Bay and Costa Maya. Looking for advice from anyone who has been on this itinerary or both to compare? Is the Western just as nice? How are the beaches there? Any replies welcome :)

  8. I am trying to book a cabin on lido deck for 2 people. It only gives me an option for rooms that can sleep 4 (a king, a sleeper sofa and a pull down. There are no cabins on this floor in this section that sleep less then 3. I have no problem booking this room but have heard if the room was needed for a bigger party they could change you to a different room on a different floor against your will? Is this true? Can they really do this?

  9. Has anyone been able to access their banking app or banks website with just a social plan? That’s the only thing that I would need to access that it showing I may not be able to with the social plan. Just was wondering if anybody had any luck or if I really need to get the upgraded plan? Thanks in advance for any replies :)

  10. Does anyone have experience with the new AT&T Cruise packages? If so was the service good while using cellular at sea? It is $50 per line and includes unlimited text and 50 minutes of talk time. I was considering getting it to be able to keep in touch with my husband while on board. What about the hub app? Is it reliable to keep in contact with each other on board? Also Carnival says on their webpage that they do offer free WiFi in certain locations on board. Do you need to pay for a package to use it? Can you access social media sites on it also?

  11. This is the part of your post I was referring to: "others say they are not and you can pay gratuity as you go on your own and have them removed from your account on the last day".

I will restate. It is the ultimate low to have gratuities removed.

I was just trying to give you better advice to contradict the bad advice you have been given.

EXACTLY!! Have them removed IF you have already paid them as you go. Wasn’t aware the gratuities were split among other behind the scene workers. :)

  12. Don't remove gratuities. That is the ultimate low.

Firstly I never suggested I was not going to tip. I was asking if I chose to tip on my own instead of using the “suggested tip” that carnival automatically adds. Whether that be more or less would be up to the level of service we received. In no way did my post ever suggest we didn’t plan on tipping at all. Nonetheless thanks for your response.

  13. Okay so I’ve been getting different information from different reps on carnival. Some say gratuities are mandatory and others say they are not and you can pay gratuity as you go on your own and have them removed from your account on the last day. My question is which is correct? Also if I open up an expense account with cash on the first day with say $100, will they automatically take the gratuities out on the first day leaving me with a zero balance or does it not come out until the last day? Therefore I would have to go pay for them on the last day if I didn’t have enough left in my prepaid expense account. Any response later would be much appreciated.

  14. We will be going on our first cruise on Carnival Magic in June. We will need to stay at a hotel the night before sailing. I see there are so many options for parking. Different cruise and park private companies, hotels that offer parking and parking directly at the port. Would love some advice on which would be our best option. Any help is greatly appreciated :)

  15. I’ve read a lot on this board about the bottomless bubbles package and having long waits for a soda at the bars. My question is can you get soda’s anywhere else on board other then at the bars? Like for instance the lido restaurant, guys burger bar, pizzeria or main dining room etc? Or do you have to find a bar each time you want a soda? New to cruising so just trying to get a perspective on what we will be dealing with if we purchase the bubbles package. Thank you in advance for any and all replies :)

  16. Can someone tell me how reliable the chat service is on Carnival hub? Also with their WiFi packages can you use iMessage and Snapchat? If so would it work on all the packages or just the top 2? I thought I read on here that iMessage does work but on Carnivals website it says no iMessage. We will be on the Magic.

  17. Myself, husband and 6yr old grandson will be going on the Magic for a 7 day cruise this summer. We are not big drinkers so the cheers package probably wouldn't make much sense for us. My husband may have a beer twice on the trip if that. How is the bottomless bubbles package? Is it worth it and what does it include? I was hoping it included coffee and bottled water but i see it does not. I don't think it would pay for us to do the Cheers package. Any advice?

  18. You can take as much luggage as you want, and they don't weigh them. We never use a porter, we just take our own luggage up to the luggage drop off place. It's very close to where the shuttle drops us off, so there has never been any point to using a porter to us. We do tip the shuttle driver for unloading our luggage. :)

We take the ship beach towels to the excursions. Like others have said, just dont lose them or they will charge you. But they are nice quality. And I wouldn't want to have to pack towels from home, so it's easier to just take the ship towel. I usually only take 2 for the 4 of us. My kids will use them to dry off quickly, so they dont need their own, and I'm the one carrying them all. :)

Does all your luggage need to be dropped off at the luggage drop or are you permitted to keep a small bag to carry on yourself?

  19. First time cruiser with a few questions. How many pieces of luggage are you allowed to bring per person on the cruise? Is it the same for children? Do they actually weigh your suitcase to make sure it is under the required pounds? Also at the ports are you allowed to bring towels from your room off the ship to use on the beach? Thanks for any answers!
