  1. My daughter is turning 13 on our Ecstasy cruise in October and I'd like to get her a facial for a birthday present. There's a spa sale going on that ends tonight for 15% off the price. The Teen Facial is $99 before the discount online. Will prices be cheaper if I book when we are on board the ship?

  2. I was considering this! Does anyone know (generally) if booking on board is still cheaper than the 15% off discount?

How much cheaper is it on board, usually? Thinking of getting my daughter a facial for her birthday on the cruise, but will wait if it's going to save me even more money if I book once onboard.

  3. My oldest is excited to go to Circle C. We've watched some videos and read a lot of information on it, as this will be our first cruise. She's turning 13 right in the middle of it (on Halloween!).

My middle, though, is very hesitant and moping around about having to go because she's 11, so she says she's going to be stuck with 'all the babies'. It doesn't help that Camp Ocean will also have my 3-year-old. Does anyone know if CO breaks up the groups in a way that she won't feel like she's at a daycare with her little sister?

  4. Cruising for the first time with a group of 9 on Ecstasy out of Charleston in October. We purchased FTTF already.

Where should we head to first after dropping off our carry-ons in the room? Lido for food? Pools for chairs? Somewhere else?

What would YOU do first, oh seasoned cruising veterans? ;)

  5. Worrying About Cost: (My primary motivation to buy Cheers). I love to drink. I like fancy mixed drinks and fine wines. I also love to not waste money. When I cruised without Cheers, I may have had a drink or two a day. Not because I don't drink much, but because I get cost conscious. When pre-purchasing Cheers, I don't even think about the cost anymore, as the money is spent. I will drink as much as I want, and sometimes a bit more. If I want to try something new but pricey (like something at the Alchemy Bar), my brain just processes it differently. Instead of "$13 for something I might hate," I think "That sounds interesting, I might like it. If not, I will just order something else in five minutes." I am a worrier when it comes to each individual purchase. When I buy Cheers, that decision is already made, so I can just order what I want, and not worry about it. The same goes for having a fine wine at dinner, ordering something at the comedy club, etc. So for me, and my habits, as long as the wife and I have the budget to pay for it, Cheers is a no-brainer for us. BUT once again, that is for us.

This right here just convinced me that Cheers is the best option for us. I relate a lot to what you posted. Thanks!

  6. Boy this thread is so quite.....

I’m back from our trip to Vietnam. We went from Saigon to the Mekong River, then to Da Nang, Hue then Ha Noi and Sapa. It was absolutely amazing trip.

I ordered this beautiful dress for my next trip to Las Vegas but it’s too big for me. I have since ordered a smaller size and had the sleeves and the length shortened. I also had the sleet closed. I love it! Anyway, I bought both dresses with my annual gift card from Saks, so I decided to donate one here. It’s Diane V Furstenberg size 10.

    This dress is STUNNING!

  7. We are currently booked with Born Free, another one I read about was Chubasco. Island Time is another one but I'm not sure they do deep sea.

We weren't really looking for deep sea, but more with something that would be comfortable for a group of 10 privately.

Can I asked what your excursion with Born Free entails and what the cost is?

  8. Nothing is wrong with Nassau! Every Port is what you make of it! We have been to Nassau dozens of times and always have a good time!

We were just there last weekend and took the "Bites of Nassau" Tru Bahamian Food Tour. A bit of history, a lot of delicious food! We visited places that Jim and I never would have found and will definitely go back to. Our guide was Capt Ron who was delightful!

We also often walk up to John Watlings Distillery where you can take a self guided tour of the small batch distillery and have a delicious Pina Colada or other drink in their lovely Plantation style building.

I know there is a Segway tour you can book privately, taxi island tours, Atlantis, and many other options! Google is your friend! :D

Make a plan ahead of time, and enjoy your day in Nassau!

Where did you book this tour? Sounds like what we'd love!

  9. I'm not sure how old you are, but I have a theory that Carnival is gearing themselves towards "younger" cruisers these days. My husband and I fall on that blurred border between GenX and the Millennial generation at just turning 40 this year. (I've seen us referred to as the 'Oregon Trail' generation.) Our 40 looks nothing like our parent's 40. We could not care less about chocolates on our pillows, the live shows, the menus in the MDR as we don't dine there, tablecloths, etc. We want good, strong drinks in the bars, current live music throughout the ship, and an all around party atmosphere. I do not mean for this to be snarky in the least, but maybe look for a line that caters more to an older crowd? Even if you're not "older", maybe that's more to your liking? Just my 2 cents. :)

Oregon Trail generation!! I love that!! I am also turning 40 this year...yikes!

  10. Good morning everyone! I'm new here on Cruise Critic and will be taking my first cruise in October! I have a weight loss goal to hit before embarkation day. Started dieting a few weeks ago, and I've been on a strict keto diet since Sunday. I am down 2 pounds since then.

I'm hoping to be a regular on this board and to encourage and BE encouraged by all of you!
