  1. I have sailed on Silver Spirit twice and have not sailed on Odyssey but sailed on a triplet last year. If you love Seabourn, you will love Silversea, so it could be a tough decision if the itineraries are almost identical and pricing is similar (I don't know if you mentioned that). The exciting thing is you have a great trip to plan.

  2. Agree off schedule or on schedule. After showing my MIL Seabourn after doing a world cruise on HAL, a grande voyage on HAL and many sailings with them and Celebrity, I was hoping her first time on SS, along with hubby's cousin's first time on SS would have all of these little touches we had on Seabourn and that we always had on SS and Regent. They are in a silver suite, so they will do their canapies there, but hubby doesn't always like what they bring, and we do like a drink before dinner. Used to Panorama for this and manage to get them to learn my "Debbietini" in a day or two. We didn't like it when they moved tea away from trivia. And not seeing the officers about? I know you were off the ship a lot, but still...I am glad that you found the staff to be great.

  3. Been enjoying the reports. Thank you for spending so much time on it.

I've never been on a Silversea cruise without pastries in the public areas in the mornings or appetizers in the bars before dinner (though Silver Spirit seemed to think it was normal to serve what should be hot as room temperature and said they would not be heating them). Nothing to be had in Panorama lounge? These sound like either timing or cost cutting issues. I hope it is the former.

  4. How is the entertainment on Whisper for 7 night cruises lately? For anyone that has been recently, can you be specific as to what was offered in the show lounge? Todd and I have been on a number of Silversea cruises, but our last cruise was on Seabourn Legend with Todd's mom and dad. We were sailing with them and Todd's cousin for this November cruise but switched to just Todd's mom and cousin when his dad went on hospice. Sadly, he died this week, and his mom has been through a long and terrible caregiver experience, plus we all loved him very much. These ladies have done Lots of Holland America and Celebrity in suites, and Cindy has done the Seabourn cruise, so she knows low-key entertainment small ship style. Patti (the cousin) has not been on a ship anywhere near this small, but she is just thrilled to have someone to travel with.

There are NO sea days on this itinerary, Two nights, we are in port until 11, and one night (St. Barths) is overnight. I know the BBQ will be one of those nights (not a fan). The ladies are doing a couple of silver collection excursions and the full day St. Lucia one that I recommended. We are fine with black jack and a drink, but they will want something that is at least a scheduled show after dinner.

  5. I'm enjoying the live reports and have also started following on Instagram. You have some wonderful photos! It was fun to recap the posts in some of the photos.

I am glad you have enjoyed the grill and the MDR at breakfast. I do hope that you give the MDR another try at night. La Terraza is usually a lovely meal, also. I'm amazed at the bread incident.

If you like a wine from one night more than what is being offered that night, ask for it again. You can also have wine sent to your room from those choices if they have it.

I am not a rue person, and I don't do butter at all. I have never liked it, and my system doesn't handle cream, either. Rather than getting sauce on the side, if I am not fond of the sauce, I ask to have mine prepared a different way. They have been happy to grill lobster for me vs. the garlic butter that some guests crave. Also, when I see an appetizer I like, sometimes, I order that as an entrée portion or I will sometimes get all starters for my courses. I'm not someone for a big hunk of meat most of the time, unless it's osso bucco!
