Had a very disappointing Princess cruise out of Sydney Australia this past February, but we are giving Princess one more change with a cruise around Australia this coming March. However, with the recent changes to Plus package, we are thinking of just cancelling outright before final payment is due. Too many other cruise line options.
Probably a smart idea to cancel outright but it's personal opinion and what the value is worth. For me, these cuts are major for me since I never pay for specialty restaurants and that leaves on a few eating options for a longer cruise.

Like the way that budget airlines are going... race to the bottom (if you'll pardon the pun!).
And hotels! Hilton brand in general has become a hot mess in the US and they are cutting everything. Nightly social hour at Homewood Suites are gone except Wednesdays. Other hilton hotel's Gold/Diamond member free breakfast is gone and replaced with a minimal food voucher. The free hotel breakfasts are mostly nasty. Room service daily? Forget it. This crap seems to be happening in general with the travel industry. It means travel less for me if it's not enjoyable.

I was thinking long and hard about switching to another cruise line as my favorite but after considering their price increases of the other cruise lines recently, I suppose I'll stick with Princess.
(and they sure know it).
I just keep tailoring my trips doing with a little less each cruise without having to spend extra in order to enjoy myself.
What really gets me is their charging me $14.99 to use the Medallion to order their food !
Not that I can't get off my duff & get it myself, but there are items that can't be had unless you order them to be delivered. 😡
I understand. I have no commitment to any cruise line as none of them have shown any commitment to me. I'll go with the one that has the best deals for the price for each cruise I select. Princess just dropped a big level with this change in my view. I'll always sail with whoever gives the best deal for me but I do factor these things into account.

In 2024, Princess plans to charge you every time you take a crap in the toilet. Therefore, enjoy what you've got now.

Give us your definition of promenade deck.
Let's say a walk way that goes at least 1/4 around the ship. Not upper deck by the pools!

Title asks it all. Will the celebrity ascent have a promenade deck? If so, is it at least some what walkable? Is there a list somewhere on which ships have walkable promenade decks? Thanks.

Anyone know if the Breakway Splash Academy kids program is open? Site says "The programs below are temporarily not available." but I'm reading other people talk about it being open on the forum in the past.

Thank you!

Does anyone know the current status? Will be on the breakaway in a month. NCL said temporarily closed when I called last month.

Do you have travel insurance?
Sure do, but I doubt they'd cover this situation. They'll blame Royal or us. I don't believe it's possible for her to get the vaccine within 2 months. She's 4 now and will be 5 in early October. The dosage before 5 is 3 shots spread out over more time.
-
While I appreciate that a refund might be available from Royal, that really doesn't help with flights and hotels and everything already booked for a transatlantic cruise within 60 days. They told me nobody could deal with it tonight and I need to call back tomorrow. What a joke of a company.
-
Same problem here... have a 5 year old scheduled on the same cruise (transatlantic Wonder of the Seas). Can you please let me know what you find out?? About to have a panic attack as well.

I've found it bizarre you can wear almost any type of footwear/pants in the MDR but the staff will call out folks wearing a hat and make you remove it. It's a personal opinion, but I"d much rather see a hat on someone than some people's feet. Yes, I know, tradition.

Can I compress the dirty laundry in a compression bag and then put it into the laundry bag? Serious question because I always have compression bags with me.
-
Bummer - was hoping it was on deck 12 with the rest of the kids area. Thanks for the info.

Does anyone have pictures of the guppies play area on the breakaway (ages 1/2 to 3 years old)? Is the access from the 12th floor?

Carnival is also doing it too
The best thing to do is use the private mode within the browser when doing mock bookings. on google chrome, it is called incognitoBut then your latitudes discounts (if any) don't show...

I"m seeing "Comments are disabled for this video." Is anyone else?

Yes, dining package not latitudes.... seems workers don't distinguish the differences.
-
Multiple people reporting they were limited to 1-1-1 on the breakaway so I'm preparing for the worst. So even if they limit 1-1-1, just order whatever we want (just 1 entree) and check the bill later?
-
I'm expecting to get on the ship and be told the dining plan only includes 1 app, 1 salad/ soup (and 1 entree which is clear). Several people in my party really enjoy multiple appetizers and it is important to them. Do they employees just not know the rules so I should ask them to just ring up the appetizers? Will it automatically get removed from the bill?
How do you handle this (politely) on the cruise? Is bringing the terms printed out the best way? Will they still fight it? Deal with it after the meal at guest relations?

It covers the entire meal, so whatever is on the menu. I don't recall anything being excluded. There is an upcharge if you are doing Ocean Blue or if you are going to be seeing the Cirque show. For our upcoming cruise I booked the Cirque dinner show, floor seats and it allowed me to use 1 of our meal credits and charged something like $18/pp extra, I paid that at the time of booking.
How much is the cirque show normally without the dining package?

give them a cruise next voucher .
old plus package is now minus package

Absolutely. Did you forget the part about personal opinion?
