  1. I've been cruising DCL for the last few years, before that I cruised a lot with RCCL and left them in favour of DCL due to the constant push to sell to you whilst onboard (nightly drinks in the loving cup whilst at dinner, 'obligatory' photo on the gangplank whilst off-boarding at ports.

So, I'm looking at NCL Getaway for a Transatlantic in October 17 - I've already seen there is a whole bunch of extras NCL sell to you, but what do I really need to look out for to make the most of cruising with NCL?

What's the best tips you can share?

    Paul

  2. Yes. They are up. I was on the Panama cruise on Wonder which arrived in Galveston on November 6th. On the day (before I got off the ship) they had removed the Halloween decorations and fitted the christmas decoration. The gingerbread house was unveiled a couple of night before the end of the cruise. Say Hi to Peter (I must remember to send him the pictures he asked for) and Anthony. Enjoy the cruise.

  3. Hang on - You think if you miss the ship in say Nassau, you can phone the ship agent and get your passport out of a locked safe in your cabin, whilst at sea and get it back to you in Nassau so that you can fly home? Think again.

I always take my passport with me when on shore (other than Castaway - I shouldn't be able to miss the ship there) and I am pretty sure that this is what DCL recommend (although I'd need to refresh my memory to be absolutely certain).

I not going to try and convince you either way though, I just know that if i miss the boat, I want my passport in my hand....

  4. There is 1 formal night on the WBTA 15. Andrea had just returned the to the ship on this year's EBTA and was waiting for a space in Palo for her to return as a server there. I think she should still be onboard for the WBTA. I can highly recommend Aziz on the MDR who I believe will still be onboard for the WBTA. If you wish to request him as part of your server team I'm sure you won't be disappointed. If you do request him, let me know and I'll tell him you are coming to ensure an extra warm welcome.

  5. Have you asked to switch? And? From memory the Halloween cruises were publicised for some time now. Maybe April. So there will be the Halloween tree in the atrium and a themed night. Could you not avoid those if they are a problem to you? Have you PIF? I think if you feel really strongly about it you should be able to cancel for a full refund. As for booking the cruise before maybe try rational explanation and escalation? But just be careful about citing the awareness of that being a Halloween cruise as it been known for some time. I'm sure you could find out the date it was confirmed if you needed to.

  6. Good information. I was on this cruise also :). Id like to note that having done the TAs 4 times now; I have a list of time zones that match the changes we go through. There are cities to match every time zone change. There are shown in the screen shot. Hopefully this will help others.

The key one is Praia (Verde Islands) which covers what is otherwise a missing time zone during that crossing. ImageUploadedByForums1433566896.781672.jpg.c26c98d17894ab731cf67a3cbd83300c.jpg

  7. I've been at the rear of Dream a few times. You'll feel it when entering port (I think it's when it rotate around to dock) particularly at Castaway and Port Canaveral. So when it's an early morning arrival it may wake you up. Other than that I think you'll be fine. Personally I put up with being woken. When arriving at CC it's nice to get the wake up call (not so much at PC)
