Before, the "break even" point for the drink package was typically 6 drinks per day, so with the four free drink vouchers, you're talking about drinking ten per day to break even.

If you're only going to drink 7-8 per day, you're better off just paying for the extras as you go, rather than paying for two deluxe drink packages.

Your suggestion is what we've been leaning towards... I definitely can't out away 10 drink daily 4 days in a row!

If not about free drinks, why does that figure into your evaluation🤔

Not going to argue with you... clearly you're confrontational.

4 drink vouchers per day, plus a 2 hour cocktail Diamond cocktail hour is more than enough for me to drink in 1 day, probably more even... there's no point in paying for the drink package if that were the case because it would be wasted on me.

Now seeing that the Diamond cocktail party doesn't include drinks as it used too... 4 vouchers a day may not be enough, so we're considering the drink package.

I like the drinks by the pool and some wine with dinner - usually take the cocktail party wine with me for dinner. It's not to get wasted as some have suggested.

  3. Does the diamond happy hour still include free drinks IN ADDITION to the 4 drink vouchers? Or are the drinks in happy hour replaced by the vouchers? If there are no free drinks in happy hour...what's the point? Just a meeting spot for top tier cruisers? Are there appetizers?

They are not allowed, as they are on the list of forbidden items that are a fire risk. Why would you try to break the rules? Please leave it home, and use the iron available, if any, in laundry area. I bring Downey Wrinkle Release Spray, and I roll my clothes. In all the cruises I’ve done, I’ve never needed to iron clothes.

Why are you commenting on a post from 8 years ago???? How did you even find it?! Come on...get real.

  5. We have about 8 ocean view balcony cabins booked for September. There are 4 on each side of the ship (port and starboard) and they all connect by balcony - for sure 2 rooms connect by interior door as well. I believe we are on deck 8. We are cruising with my 2 young kids and upon booking... our TA told us to book 2 connecting canins and put 2 of us in each because it was much cheaper than booking 1 ocean view balcony rooms for 4 of us .

  6. Do I need to bring a carseat on our cruise? We have a 2yo who will fly on our laps and a 4yo who will have a seat. Cruising out of MIA so we would be in a taxi/shuttle only from hotel to port and returning home vice versa. I cant imagine the island transportation requiring carseats so I doubt that to be an issue.

Please dont rag on me for suggesting driving from the airport - cruiseport without kids in carseats... just trying to find best solution here, 1st time cruising with kids so it's a big change for us

  7. We will be cruising for our first time WITH kids in September 2019. A 2 year old and a 4 year old.... on the Symphony.

Quick question - my gma has generously booked us in balcony staterooms for this trip but I am a little concerned about the access my boys will have to the balcony. They're adventurous little dudes and while we OBVIOUSLY plan on always being on the balcony when they are out there.... i

Theres still worries about them getting out there on their own. Other than the obvious of locking the door... any advice or tips on extra ways to secure the balcony door? Or is this something I would really need to worry about?!

  8. Thanks for your reply...

They are booking and paying for balcony cabins for all the guests that will be cruising with the family so that part is easily taken care of....

We were trying to narrow down (on our own) what cruise line would give them the best offering - based off of this that would decide what cruise line, ship and ports would be our itinerary.

I guess if working with a TA is the way to go, then that's what we will do...

Were hoping to do some of the comparison and leg work on our own
