  1. Paradise Bike rental is still open. Look for them on Tripadvisor for reviews and contact info. You can also go with a Segway tour of the city. These are not free roaming and are guided so I would look into it to see if it suits your needs.

Thank you for your reply. I only saw one review for the bike rental place on trip advisor. I think that a segway tour would be fun but because of the same reasons you listed, I have never been interested in doing that.

If anyone else has rented bikes in San Juan, can you please ket me know how it went? Thanks!

  2. Hello! I was looking for info on any type of rental company in San Juan. We will be in port from 8 to 4. We wanted to just wander around and go to the forts but renting a bike, scooter, adult sized tricycle etc (like in Key West) would just add to the fun. I heard about one called Paradise rentals but I can't find a website for them and thought maybe they closed down.

Are there any companies like this in San Juan? Thanks!

  3. Do you have to actually be able to sing or can you lip sync and win the crowd with antics and such?

Most do pretty well. Not many people want to be embarrased before a 1000 or so of their fellow guests.

Shocked that they dont give you the lyrics of the song you will sing as I would imagine nervousness will make many people forget them.

As everyone else said, yes....we had to actually sing. That made it fun for me. They don't tell you what to do except to stand on the mark on the floor. I asked them if I could move around and they said yes but that I had to be at that spot again by a certain point in the song. We had one practice and that was it.

I don't know if they give anyone else lyrics. It could have just been a fluke for the show I was in. I just know that I didn't get any.

I would rather sing for a HUGE crowd then in front of 50 people. When you sing in front a huge crowd, you don't know who is listening and you can tell if they are making fun of you. Being on the stage, You can't even see out into the audience. It was sooooo bright and sort of made me squint a little. My costume was too big but it was fun!

This is me as Madonna. It was hard to sing at the end because the guys were rubbing up against me and bumping me microphone. It was soooooo much fun though. There is actually Britney on this video before me, she was drunk and was messing up BIG TIME.

  4. Cruisers audition in Karaoke for different "roles" (ie Brittney, Sinatra, etc), and are chosen by audience applause (when my father was chosen as Sinatra on the Elation, the staff chose the singers). Winners get an i-pod with the band arrangement & lyrics so they can practice, then on the last night, there is the big show, with crew members doing comedy acts between acts.

My mother wanted to do Shirley Temple, but that "role" was never up for grabs!

When I was Madonna a few years ago they did not give me the lyrics. It wasn't a huge deal because I know almost every word to every song ever written (almost....) so I just wrote them down from memory. I don't know about the other Legends. The song was also a shorter version of the original so I was on my own when it came to knowing when and where to sing. They also only did two or three auditions at a time. They did Madonna and Gloria last and it wasn't until about 3 days before the show.

It was also cool because they put the name of the Legend you would be on your door in a star for every one to see. I think that was the most fin I have ever had on vacation!

  5. May 26th Liberty still had the "old" show. I did Garth Brooks.

In our show, the CD was dragged onto stage dressed as "Dolly Parton" just like the last N times we have seen the show. Everytime, though, it's still a pretty good show.

Don't sit on the sidelines, get in there and sing!

Well you know not *everyone* can perform or there wouldn't be a show. Hehehe :D

I was Madonna about 4 years ago. It was sooooooooooo much fun but it kind of stressed me out. They didn't give me the lyrics or anything like that. It's a good thing I have a musical background and was able to figure out how to sing it etc. I'm hoping that there isn't any one I want to audition for, because I want to enjoy the cruise and not be stressed out about the performance.

  6. After we were done at the beach, we backed track up Duval about a block and took a left on South Street. You walk a couple more blocks at end up at the Southernmost Point. There was a line of about 20 people that were waiting to take pictures. A lot of people kept just walking up a taking pictures, completely ignoring the line. It made the line take a lot longer than it should have.

The people that were in line behind us didn't speak English, so we didn't have anyone who could take a picture of the two of us together.

We started walking back to the pier on Whitehead Street.

Across from the Hemingway House, we came across the cutest kitty. Not sure whether he escaped from there or whether he was someone's pet.

It really does look like it escaped....look at the 6 toes on its left front paw. Poor baby. I hope it finds it's way home :-(

  7. Can I ask why? Did you have a crash and lose them?

    Dave

All of my previous cruises were done when i used my old laptop. All of the photos were on there. It did crash and I loast alot of things. most of my photos are on disks, but I have over 10,000 photos just from the last 2 years and not enough time to go through them all.

I am leaving on Sunday and hope to have many good ones to share when I return :-)

  8. I do still need the Celebration. Do you want to list it on eBay? Or is there one that you need in trade. I think I have extra Holiday and perhaps Triumph pins. I need to dig them out and see which ones.

Oh no! I feel like an idiot!!! I can't find the Celebration pin but I have the Valor. I'm sorry!! I'll keep looking for it.
