We used SAS last year to get to the POM and from POM to FLL.
We were picked up from a hotel, and were the last on that shuttle, I think there were 6-8 people in it. Took about 40 mins or so to get to the port. The driver ( I can't remember his name now) talked about what we were passing, and then about how his experiences on ships. He was interesting and friendly, and made the ride go by quickly.
Getting back to FLL was easy too. Called when walking off the ship, and then again after customs. Driver met up out front. He circled and parked for about 5 to 10 mins waiting for another couple. Shuttle was full, I sat up front and again, the driver was friendly and made the ride back easy going. Dropped everyone off at their terminal.
Planning on using them again this Oct.

If you have early dining, you go to the late show after dinner. If you have late dinning, you go to the early show before dinner. You don't have to go to the shows, but they are pretty good. We went to the shows every night and then to dinner.

Stayed on Deck 6, in a std inside, last year, with the wife and 5 yr old son. With an extra, older kid, it would be deck 1 for me.

If you drink 4 to 5 drinks at day, plus a water or soda, you're better than breakeven, even on port days.
On land, I'm not a drinker, less than one drink a month. On the ship, I like to have one in hand, it's vacation. Do you like to try a new drink without feeling bad if you hate it and throw it away, no problem. Get another. Stop by Alchemy and try a new drink every time you go by, I've never had a bad one.
For some people it's math. For some it's not worrying about the bill at the end. For us it's a bit of both, even on port day with dinner, a show or two, and then the casino or piano bar, we're gonna get more than 4 drinks anyway, plus waters and coffee, so it's a no brainer.
